Why? Just why?

Seriously, who thought a gang rape, PTS and anxiety disorders would be a great premise for a Romance novel?

Spoilers:
How did that meeting go with the publisher?
Author:
“Picture it a girl gets gang raped and left to die in a dumpster, only to survive and find out she’s pregnant by one of the 6 guys.” ! ... “ok so years later she falls in love with her childhood sweetheart but can’t be intimate with him without having flashbacks about the gang rape. Also she suffers from anxiety about being away from her son, but when she finally starts to relax, she’ll leave the boy with her fiancé and we can write a whole chapter about him not having a booster seat for the child to sit in and yet put him in the front seat of a sports car”
Publisher:
Wow what a great idea! Think about all those mothers out there wanting to have a little escape from life via a romance novel... who wouldn’t want to imagine themselves as this character!

Seriously, whoever gave the green light for this novel needs to transfer to a different department, your idea of what women want in their fantasy romance is light years away from this!

Not my favorite

I like this series and, in the past two books, I enjoyed the different struggles and drama between the two mains and the different packs but this one just felt like filler. There was no real antagonist, though some possible antagonists were introduced, and it just didn't grab me the way the others did. I didn't find the relationship very compelling either. I think the only part I liked about this book was Oscar and I don't even like kids. There were a few redeeming moments but overall, I feel like it could have been so much better if more emphasis was placed on plot over Maddie's past and the issues caused by it.

This series is about a BUNCH of runway females

I can not take women who don’t have back bone. Now this is a tough topic but this book is full with emotion inconsistency. I can’t go back and buy my family through this but I fine with putting a child through the same thing.

Every book in this series is new and fresh!

It so often is the case where you read a great book and it is part of a series that you can’t wait to read the next one. Then when you do read subsequent books they are stale and a carbon copy of the first and you end up disappointed. This isn’t the case with The Weston Pack series. Each one is new and different and you fall in love with the characters all over again. It’s just such a great read that I highly recommend it. You will never want them to end as you share the adventures of a loving family building strong bonds and and a growing pack.

Trigger warning

Story talks about a woman who was SAed, this may trigger some people. So this read may not be for everyone. The story had a lot of sweet moments overall.

Madelyn & Liam

Another great story of The Westin Pack that tells the tragic story of Madelyn and the meeting of her true mate Liam Westin.
Looking forward to continuing the journey and moving on to book 4.
Also enjoyed the narrators, they made for easy listening.

Liam's story

I enjoyed Liam's story. Liam is Lilly's twin brother. I don't usually write reviews but wanted to include some TWs. Hugs to those that need them.

trigger warnings; rape, PTSD, anxiety attacks, lab testing, imprisonment

SPOILER
the female MC's main background story is being gang raped. she has PTSD from the terrible ordeal, she thinks about it, has anxiety attacks, a hard time dealing with society in general and eventually talks about it throughout the story. the author does a good job depicting someone trying to go through the motions and trying to heal. I just would not suggest this book for someone still on their own journey of healing or someone easily upset.

How annoying the narrators can get voice was for Oscar and Lily.

The things the author has the kid saying is WAAAAAY mature and not believable for any 7 year old, and the annoying, whiny baby talk voice the narrator uses made me have to literally skip over parts because it was nails on the chalkboard.

Disappointed w this 3rd book as the first two were wonderful and supported a strong female presence. If I had to hear about the weak main character with her anxiety attacks and panic attacks and PTSD, and the poor baby stuff for much longer I would have screamed. I will try the next book and hope that it is nothing like this one.
