Publisher's summary

As a fledgling reporter, Fletch is doing more flailing than anything else. That and floating around from department to department trying to figure out where he fits. His managing editor's got him pegged for the society pages, but the kind of society Fletch gets involved with is anything but polite.

His first big interview, a millionaire lawyer with a crooked streak and an itch to give away some of his ill-gotten gains, ends up dead in the News-Tribune's parking lot before Fletch can ask question number one. So Fletch goes after the murderer instead and ends up learning a thing or two about crime and punishment.

At the same time, he's supposed to be covering (or maybe uncovering) a health spa that caters to all its clients' needs and gets hired as a very personal trainer. Never mind that he's supposed to be getting married at the end of the week; Fletch has a few other engagements to take care of first.

Fletch plans a marriage!

The narrator's voice melds perfectly with Fletchs personality! A rollicking good ride that never ends!

Great origin of Fletch

You go into it already hating Barbara. Another fine Fletch tale. Here’s to using up all the characters required. Get it!

Fun Fletch Episode

Fletch stories are great because of their irreverence and because the crimes he covers are usually pretty funny. This episode is no exception. The characters are mostly crazy. Or at least goofy. I laughed a lot while listening to it on audible Only three episodes to go. It should be a miniseries

Much better than the previous "Carioca"!

This was another classic Fletch book that has a similar pace of the first 4 or 5 in the series. Glad I powered through the last!

Talk about confusing.

I've really enjoyed all of the Fletch books. Talk about involved, pulling everything together in the last 3 chapters can't be easy. The characters are really great but I can't for the life of me figure out how Fletch keeps finding these women to get engaged to. He's a very likable character but still he's more involved in his work than anything else. He never seems to stand up for himself until the end. Oh well they're still great books.

The best next to the original

Thought I had read them all but missed this one and it was excellent.

Maybe even better saving it for last even though out of order. The puzzle piece of this book and just how good the plot was really put it all together perfectly.

Fantastic series where a minimal number of words used for terrific scenes in each chapter come together.

Fletch Begins

I was really looking forward to this one. It’s different from a lot of the series and was published much later but still stays true to a young fletch.

I’ve read all these books scores of times and have owned several copies of all of them. I was so excited when they started to be released on Audible. I’m a huge McDonald fan and the first book I ever bought on audible was the only McDonald book available - Skyler. (I’m still waiting for the sequel to be release on audio format)

I was sceptical of Dan John Miller, or anyone really, portraying Fletch properly but he does a great job. And as soon as they were possible I preordered everyone one.

As we near the end of the series, here’s hoping we get to see the Flynn books, and fingers crossed - the other Skylar book.

Thank you Mr. Miller and all involved in bringing these classic works to life. I eagerly anticipate the remaining few.

In this book - everything leads to the most beautiful chaos image at the end perfectly. It’s a painting of words. Loved it.

Interesting plot and characters

I like the series. Unfortunately there is no easy way to tell from the titles where in the sequence each book is. So I found myself listening to the first, then the twelfth, then the second. It is a good way to see how the author has matured in his writing style and character development. Actually saw a “Fletch” movie on a recent flight. Was not impressed with the changes made to the story to transfer book to film. I think Fletch would be better served as a tv comedy/ drama than full length movie. Each season could cover one book in depth and introduce the next one in the season finale.
