Publisher's Summary

Remember what I said about saving the world? Yeah, apparently the third time is the charm. Turns out our little plan to stop the apocalypse left the gate open for some bastards straight out of HP Lovecraft. Now they've come on through to try to turn the planet into an all you can eat buffet. That's not exactly my jam, so if I want to go on living here, I'll need to find a way to stop them. My name is Frank Butcher, and one way or another, I'm putting an end to this once and for all.

    Which scene was your favorite?

This trilogy was a quick and easy read/ listen to. The world and protagonist weren't particularly unique, but it flowed better than most and did some things with the mythology that most urban fantasy stories shy away from. Overall I liked this series.

This was a great Urban Fantasy. Even thought i have not read the first two books, i had no problem following the story. I hope there will be more in this series. The story line was great. Each character was great. Joe Hempell really did a great job narrating. He is one of the best. He always does a great job.

    "Fist of Irony"

Joe Hempel knocked this out of the ballpark. He kept it more interesting than the story line.
As the finale in the trilogy series I expected more depth and a longer progression to the climax. Unfortunately, it was too brief and not completely satisfying. After all that is done and said, if you cut out the "catch me ups" in books two and three, this could have been an all-in-one urban fantasy and been worthwhile.
I'm really pleased I was able to listen to this within a month and not have swallowed this bitterness of unmet expectations.

    "Uh-Oh, it's magic again!"
What made the experience of listening to Fists of Iron the most enjoyable?

This is book 3 of the series about a snarky man drifting through life who gets pulled into a world of magic he never knew existed. Unfortunately, he gets pulled in in the middle of a wizard war and is nearly killed until Dr. Gabriella Perez replaces his heart with a golden artifact that acts as his heart and pumps gold through his veins. Once again, the authors expand the magical world begun in book one and make you feel like you are part of the journey.

What other book might you compare Fists of Iron to and why?

Well, to the first two of the series. Book 3 picks up where Book 2 left off as Frank, Gabriella and their band of not-so-merry wizards and a Golem search for Gabby's missing son, Max, who may be the key to something so powerful that two factions of wizards want him dead.

    Any additional comments?

Book 3 puts all the characters through the wringer trying to retrieve Max. This was a fun series brought to life by narrator Joe Hempel. Joe was perfect as the snarky Frank Butcher. I will definitely look for my from this narrator!<br/><br/>I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

    "Awesome Magically Wonderful Series!!!"

It has been a magical journey watching Frank mature through this series. Don't get me wrong he is still the sharp tongued, sarcastic butthole but in Fists of Iron you see a softer side to Frank and its beautiful. Joe Hempel is an awesome narrator who really brings Frank and the other characters to life and I would not hesitate to buy other books narrated by him. I truly enjoyed this series and look forward to reading more from the Authors.

    "Adventuresome and Fun"

What I liked about Fists of Iron was that it was non-stop adventure. It was magical and mystical with neat characters; the real ones as well as the supernatural ones. It was fast and fun and great for most age groups in my opinion. There was some language though (just curse words). While I didn't listen to the first two books in the series, it was fine as a stand alone.

Joe Hempel's narration was outstanding. He has excellent character voices and keeps a perfect pace. He's a really good voice actor and enjoyable to listen to.

This is the third book in the series and it is as good if not better than the others. The story, characters and narration is superb. A definite must. I received this audiobook for free and voluntarily reviewed.

"The saga comes to an end."
    Any additional comments?

I received a copy of this audio title for free in exchange for an unbiased review.<br/><br/>Fists of Iron brings the Clan of Shadows trilogy to an end, or seems to anyway. Given the ending there is always a chance for more adventures. I've enjoyed the series, though this 3rd book not as much as the others. It was just ...well everything and the kitchen sink, what with all the gods and all. Just seemed like a bit too far, jumping of the shark if you will.<br/><br/>Word of warning, this isn't a series where you can read the books solo and still get a full story out of it, these books are very much a continuation of each other, a serial or sorts. It almost feels like one large book that was chopped into three smaller books, and you really need to read them one after another, unless you have am exceptional memory, because there isn't a huge recap or reintroduction of characters. At the start of book 3 the authors pretty much assumes you know all the character and everything that has transpired before hand. If you some how picked up book 2 or 3 without reading book 1 or if you read the previous book months ago then you are likely be quite confused. That being said, it's an enjoyable tale, and I experience all 3 books within a short period so I was fine with it.<br/><br/>J.A. Cipriano is an author I've definitely come to enjoy, and while this series isn't his best, I definitely think it was worth my time. My favorite book by him so far has been the 1st book in his Soulstone series. Loved it. Now I just need to find time to jump into book 2, which I have both on my kindle and in audible format. <br/><br/>Joe Hempel is the narrator, and once again he does an admirable job at bringing the world and story to life. My only gripe, and it's a minor complaint at that, is that he shouldn't have attempted to do 'a voice' for Molly. His female Irish accented voice just didn't work for me, lol.

"Just Freaking Awesome!!!! Frank Butcher Rocks!!!"

Fists of Iron: Clans of Shadow, Book 3 picks right up after book 2. The Littlest Rabbi has split with Gabi's son Max and the Great Old Ones are back in the World. Things are getting real bad real quick. The last Peace Keeper is now back, he is also Gabi's husband back from the dead, a total dick, and wants to go after the Rabbi. He is more worried about the peace keeper image than his and Gabi's son. Frank is Frank and just wants to keep Gabi happy and save the world. This story has it all. It is probably the best of the series. If you have followed the series so far you need to pick this volume up. You will not be sorry. Trust me. Oh the places you will go. The things you will see and hear it is well worth it.

The narration is done once again by the ever amazing Joe Hempel. He is Frank Butcher in my mind. If you have not heard his work pick up this series. He give characters life like no one else. He gets the listener to invest in these characters as they become real and three dimensional. He has a way of making you care about even the least of the characters with the way that he gives them life.

""I believe I understand your mad ramblings, Frank Butcher"
    Any additional comments?

The third and final part of this action packed, and packed some more, instalment of Cipriano and Garner's Clans of Shadow series, featuring fast talking Frank Butcher, the man with, literally, a heart of gold.<br/>This crazy, irreverent story of defiance in the face and teeth of impossible madness is tremendous fun. Joe has Max. His mother, Gabby, wants him back, so Frank does, too. To find him they will have to take on the universe, God's and all.<br/><br/>Written in the first person from Butcher's point of view, Joe Hempel is Frank, his narration carrying the story onwards, upwards and through the epic battle with disarming humour and occasional un-Frank like modesty. It is such a pleasure to listen to Me.Hempel's reading that the story almost becomes irrelevant. Almost. But this story also grabs the visual cortex of the reader's brain as, "tattered, torn, bleeding - but still standing," the friends fight fiends of inter-dimensional horror at the gates of heaven itself. And, as always, "the clock was ticking."<br/><br/>A stunningly explosive ending to this melding of myth and fantasy. My thanks to the rights holder who freely gifted me my copy of Fists of Iron, via Audiobook Boom. Although the trilogy is here concluded, there is still room in the universe for a further Frank Butcher story to emerge. This reader, for one, would be very glad to see it.
