Lots of Mystery

Loved the twists and turns of the storyline.

Only thing that was hard to get used to was the British accent of the narrator. At first I thought the book took place overseas.

Overall a great story! Will definitely recommend.

Fantastic story!

Mystery, thrill, love...Blair McDowell drew me in from the very beginning and held me there throughout the story. Her ability to develop the characters (the good ones and the really bad ones) is paramount to the story. She also does a wonderful job of describing the world the characters live in. From the start to the finish, the author does a wonderful job of bringing it all together.
I listened to the audiobook version of the story and, although I have nothing negative to say about Beverley Murray's work, the fact that the author chose a narrator with a British accent to narrate threw me off there for a while. I kept wondering if they were in Berkeley, Ca or if they were in the UK in a city with the same name. Also, usually, the narrator uses character voices for different people, and she did not. Beverley Murray did a wonderful job of narrating the story having done it her own way.

Amazing book.

I was offered this book to provide an honest review.

I am so honored to have listened to this book. I enjoyed every second of it. The love story behind the mystery was perfect, the narrator did a wonderful job too. Her accent was marvelous. I can’t wait to read or listen to more books of this author.

Be prepared for an intriguing ride.

This was an audible gift from the author for a fair and honest review. Thank you Blair McDowell.
I will in the future look for more titles by this author.

Narration was single by Beverley Murray, her voice was clear and concise, but I often had a problem relating to who was speaking when there was multiple characters in a scene and the narrator used no inflection. This is only my opinion and should be taken lightly, others may not have a problem with this.

The story- This author can sure spin a tale of intrigue, adventure and of course romance. The story takes us from California to Paris and the surrounding countryside with Caitlin a little naive, but strong willed jewelry designer. She is unknowingly thrown into a situation where she is burglarized, kiddnapped and finds that the man she was dating is dead and isn’t who she thought he was, but before his death hides a piece of jewelry that leads to the drama that unfolds. It also leads her to the man that unwittingly takes her heart and doesn’t give it back.
I will not give anything else away read or listen for yourself.

Good suspense romance

Enjoyed this suspenseful romance. There is a good mix of action, suspense and romance. Liked the instant chemistry that both tried to fight and how they finally gave in. Enjoyed trying to make the puzzle come together as the story went along.

Intrigue and international adventures.

This book was great. Caitlyn, a young jewelry designer, on the cusp on making a go of her business, is embroiled in a case larger than she can deal with alone. Her boyfriend dead, and her assistant the only ally, helps her with the royal treasure. Her adventures bring her danger, friendship, alliances, and love. Can the Irish professor turn her around in time? Well written! Love this reader!!!

New author to me and a solid book it’s been

Blair McDowell is new to me, I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest opinion on it.

Beverley Murray did a good job, but she had no American accent for any of the characters. So it definitely could have improved in that as well as changes in voice for the Male vs Female POVs.

I listened twice through the audiobook just to see if I missed anything. The story was well done and believable. However I found the heroine to be a bit wishy washy at times for a woman in her late twenties.

Overall I would give this story a 4.5, half missing because of no real inflection or range in the narration done by Beverley Murray for the different characters nor in female vs male roles.

I will check out more work by Blair McDowell but not the narrator unless it’s an English story completely.

Great Mystery, Suspense and Romance

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The story pulled me in from the very beginning. I loved the twists that were in this story. Some of the characters were very endearing, some were intriguing, some had me wanting more. I thought the author did an awesome job weaving the story based around theft and a jewelry designer, and how she included some historical details. The book has the perfect amount of mystery, suspense and romance for me. Without giving away spoilers, I thought the ending was awesome! Kudos to the author for that. This is the second book by Blair McDowell that I have listened to and I am really impressed by her writing. Beverly Murray is a new narrator to me, and is talented, yet I'd like to hear her give characters more distinguishable voices. I will definitely listen to more books by both of them.
