Publisher's summary

The explosive conclusion to the New York Times best-selling series.

In Dalton Fury's Execute Authority, Kolt "Racer" Raynor and his Delta Force squadron are in Greece, providing VIP security for the newly elected - and deeply controversial - American president on his desperate mission to hold the NATO alliance together.

Then, the unimaginable happens. Just as the president is arriving, an assassin's bullet takes the life of the Greek prime minister. The president is safe, but Raynor recognizes the killer - Rasim Miric - by his grisly signature: a bullet through his target's left eye.

The hunt for the assassin ends when Miric, to all appearances, blows himself up in an explosion that levels an apartment block, but Raynor refuses to accept that the sniper is really dead. Miric's grudge is with America, and one American in particular - the Delta Force operator who cost him an eye, Kolt Raynor. Raynor believes that Miric's killing spree is only just beginning, and his suspicions are proved true when Miric is photographed crossing the border into the United States.

Forbidden by law from operating on American soil, Raynor will have to bend the rules until they break, risking everything in order to run the assassin down before he can strike again.

But what Raynor doesn't realize is that Rasim Miric is also hunting him.

Sad to see it wrapped up

Dalton Fury's series is one of the most underrated but along with Mark Greaney's Grey Man and Ben Coes' Dewey Andreas has absolutely the best military thriller series out there. This was another win and Fliakos is great as the voice of Colt. What's next Mr. Fury?

Book 5 in Dalton Fury's Delta Force/Kolt Raynor...

...series. This series is an adrenaline junkie's dream! It is a combination of military thriller and espionage thriller with lots of action and intense suspense. Protagonist Lieutenant Colonel Kolt Raynor plays by the rules; it's true rules are his rather than those of the US Army. He seems to always be in trouble with Army brass. In Execute Authority he struggles to protect the US president from Serbian sniper assassin Rasim Miric who is a man he has dealt with in the past and who holds a deadly grudge because Raynor destroyed his left eye. Miric is determined to kill Raynor. Ari Fliakos Has narrated all 5 novels in the series. Like all novels in the series Execute Authority is a great listen.

The Best of the Series

I have listened to all of the books in this series and found each of them to be extraordinary. This one, book five, is the best . Sadly the author died of cancer, shortly after writing this one, and I dont think anyone will be able to capture the pace, characters, background knowledge, and heart as did Dalton Fury ( not real name ) I could not stop listening to Execute Authority and spent several hours each day to listen. If you liked any of his other books, you will surely enjoy this one. The story line was believable, the characters realistic, flawed and heroic. The narration by Ari Flakos was superb. i had found a new favorite author, character, and narrator... and now it is over. Thank you for the wonderful experience to all that made it so good. May God rest his soul. It is worth reading up on the author and all the great things he did in real life. He must be greatly missed by his family and loved ones.
For those who rated this less than 5 stars plus, they have no business even bothering to listen or read this book.

Major Tom R.I.P.

I love narrator Ari Fliakos and found this author my fave, and author Ben Coes because he narrated the books. All his characters jump to life including females. Check out his reads as he is wonderful.
I savored this last #5 book in the Racer series as l read the author Dalton Fury had passed at 52 yrs old from cancer. It took me Books 1&2 to fully enjoy the author's style of writing Delta speak. I made the mistake of reading out of order as l usually do, and now am going back to catch any miss clues along the way. Books 4 recaps simply in a great teaser way and no spoilers and made me a fan of entire series. Do not read #5 this book first, as it needs to be savored as dessert.
Were my comments of help?
