Just out of Harvard Law School, Kate Paine is on the fast track at Samson & Mills, the nation's richest, most powerful law firm. Assigned to assist the charismatic managing partner in a high-profile sexual harassment case, Kate can hardly believe her luck. But with the brutal murder of Madeline Waters, a beautiful female partner, Kate's carefully constructed world begins to collapse. Intelligent legal thriller

I experienced a bit of trepidation when I started reading this book: an author I hadn't read before,an unfamiliar narrator and fairly long. But, I needn't have worried: this book is an excellent listen. It's intelligently written, from beginning to end. At no time did it seem as though Ms Gutman was "dialling it in". Great characters, great plot and thought-provoking sub-text. Highly recommended.

a good listen

This is my second Gutman, listened to this one based on enjoying the first. This book started out fairly predictable it seemed but soon turned into a clever "who dunnit". I thoroughly enjoyed the book and blew right through it.
