Publisher's Summary

Tennis has been very good to sports agent Myron Bolitar. He represents two of the hottest young stars in the game. But when his female player is murdered in broad daylight at the U.S. Open and his male player becomes the prime suspect, Myron's got a whole new match to win. His investigation leads to an old murder, the mob, a crooked senator, a jealous mother, and someone who's determined to shut down his search for good.

In novels that crackle with wit and suspense, Edgar Award-winner Harlan Coben has created one of the most fascinating and complex heroes in suspense fiction, a hot-headed, tender-hearted sports agent who grows more and more engaging and unpredictable with each page-turning appearance.

Critic Reviews

"The prose is lean, the story moves briskly, and the dialogue crackles...great fun in the best 'hard-boiled' tradition." (Houston Chronicle)

Funny, Intriguing, and Engaging

My favorite Coben book yet. Myron and Wynn are at their funniest, the tennis scene makes a nice backdrop, and the mystery keeps you guessing. The author does an excellent job as usual. I really enjoyed listening to this book.

i liked it

When I first started this book, I did not think I would like it. The tennis thing was weird, since I have no interest in it. The story took off though. I laughed out loud in several places and I really liked the dry voice of the narrator, he added to the story. I am going to continue listening to this series as opposed to reading the books.

Whoa! Kew-el Kickoff. Myron Bolitar! Yea!

Terrific ensemble cast. Perfect read. quick plot. Start with this... then get the next. I will... Check the next review... Hope it's as strong as this one. BTW. Bolitar is a sports agent. I am not a strong sports. fan. I mean I'm a man in America so I like some games, but not an addict. Thought I'd be left out. Wasn't. The sports world is to this novel as a hot arrangement is to a great melody. It makes the whole thing work. If this was an introductory novel... Let me repeat... Whoa!

Great read

At first It fell kind of short for me... However it was (like always with Mr. Harlen's books) a great read 😊. In my opinion the performance was a little dry though.... Now with that said Mr. Jonathan did pick up alittle more later yet it he did start off alittle rough for. Still great book and Good performance 😊

Harlan Coben fabulous.

Harlan Coben is one of the best story tellers and this book is no acception. He builds you into his stories and takes the plot to unexpected places. He's sooner p of the writers I can't put down. I think I've read everything her has written.

Storyline could be better

I have like most of Mr. Corban's books and love the characters, but this wasn't one of the best. I will continue following Myron though!

Good read but problems

This is a great book that pulls you in right from the beginning & keeps you guessing with plot twists. I love Myron Bolitar's character. My only fault with the book is Coban's use of G--d damn. It is unnecessary & making me not want to return to read book 3. I began this series with book 11 which did not use this word. Very sad to say book 1 & 2 did use it.

Witty and suspenseful.

I've now finished 3 of these books. The characters are so well developed they seem like friends. A great way to spend long drives.
