Editorial reviews

Boasting a cast of narrators including Golden Earphones recipient Gabrielle de Cuir and Golden Voice awardee Stefan Rudnicki, this unique audiobook features each narrator taking on a different character and performing chapters from their point of view. Listeners will be electrified by their performance of this story where a mysterious little boy who begins appearing in an artist's paintings, even though the artist has never actually seen him; a partially-blind agoraphobic is expelled from his apartment by a strange entity; a widower begins to have nightmares that his long-missing son is still alive and in danger; and a young runaway realizes his companion is actually a malevolent presence. The narrators keep up an urgent pace, and link these four stories together seamlessly to an unpredictable end.

Publisher's summary

In Drawn, a mysterious little boy has begun appearing in the paintings of an artist who can't remember ever actually seeing him. A partially blind, disfigured agoraphobic who suffers crippling panic attacks if he even tries to leave his apartment is forced out by an unseen entity. A lonely widower begins to suffer terrifying nightmares that his long-missing, presumed-dead son is still alive and in mortal danger. A young runaway realizes that a man he thought was his traveling companion is actually his captor...and a predator. The lives of four very different people, driven by different but very powerful forces, crash together as they fight to solve their individual mysteries, to defeat a brutal enemy, and to save the life of an innocent boy.

Gripping until a week end

I was really drawn to this story and had a hard time putting it down but was let down by the weak conclusion.

Engaging and Different

I really enjoyed this book. It was a different kind of mystery and each character's story was told by a different narrator. I really enjoyed the different narrators and I found the story interesting although I was a little disappointed at the ending. I don't like all the loose ends tied up in a tidy little bow like a hastily wrapped birthday gift you forgot about until the last minute.

I think the story would have been better if the author had drawn the mystery out a little bit more.

DRAWN FOUR HAUNTED

This was a great listen. Different for a change. I enjoyed the different narrators for each character. It helps keep track of who's who as the story unfolds. Each character is a stranger to the other with their own issue's and yet they all have one thing in common, a haunting. Time is running out! Will they figure out what haunts them before it's too late?

moments of pretty good-ness

I liked it. It wasn't the most polished, and the writing wasn't spectacular, but it was alright. The story required a lot of disbelief-suspending and relied pretty heavily on coincidences. That said, though, the story itself was compelling and at times genuinely scary. There were scenes of child abuse that were skin-crawlingly awful in their realism. Not much gets to me, but that part of the story did.
The characters were likable and I actually did feel invested in their wellbeing.
Someone compared it to Koontz, and I can see that, but it lack's Koontz' awful preachiness and reliance of the same tropes book after book. No magical child geniuses, here. Which I appreciate.
It was a surprisingly good listen. I'm glad I took a chance on it.

Another AMAZING book! And narrators!

This book had me hooked at the first page! This was such a good, thrilling book! I was skeptical how the different narrators would work. But, I was very glad tht they all worked out so good! All the narrators and the voices they lent were sooooo good.
My only critique ...and its a small one...is tht I would have liked for Boone and Alice to get together :/
Love the stories and books by this author so far :D
