Publisher's summary

When Sir Charles Airdrie, owner of Dreams Castle in the Scottish Highlands, gives young Vernon Lathaby - a flamboyant young exhibitionist - permission to search the Isle of Erran for buried treasure, Lathaby takes along his tough hanger-on, ‘Digger Henderson’. However, cautious of being swindled by his partner, Lathaby takes out insurance to protect him, so Miles Bredon is dispatched by the suspicious Incredible Insurance Company to keep a watchful eye on proceedings.

Can't get past reader.

Would you try another book from Ronald Knox and/or Barnaby Edwards?

The unnatural staccato cadence of the reader made this unpleasant to listen to. I gave up after 45 minutes.

Would you be willing to try another one of Barnaby Edwards’s performances?

No.

Starts slow, but very fun mystery

The first chapters were slow, but this turned into a very interesting (and funny) mystery. The detectives are delightful (if you like P.G. Wodehouse’s Psmith or Agatha Christie’s Tommy and Tuppence you will love this story). Very well written with engaging characters.
