Publisher's summary

Just when Alex Cross thought his life was calming down into a routine of patients and therapy sessions, he finds himself back in the game - this time to catch a criminal mastermind like no other. A spate of elaborate murders in Washington, D.C., have the whole East Coast on edge. They are like nothing Alex and his new girlfriend, Detective Brianna Stone, have ever seen. With each murder, the case becomes increasingly complex.

There's only one thing Alex knows: the killer adores an audience. As victims are made into gruesome spectacles citywide, inducing a media hysteria, it becomes clear to Alex that the man he's after is a genius of terror - and he's after fame. The killer has the whole city by its strings. And he'll stop at nothing to become the most terrifying star that Washington, D.C., has ever seen.

Solve another case with Alex Cross.

It was OK

A good listen, but not one of Dr. Cross's usual spellbinders. It was easy to set it aside. Again a good listen but not up to previous Dr. Cross standards.

A good listen

This was my first audio novel from James Patterson, but certainly not my first taste of Alex Cross. I have read all his novels to date and found this one to be comparable. I do prefer the novels that do not include a girlfriend in Alex's life. I had to roll my eyes at the uneccessary detail in sex scenes and ridiculously placed comments about how sexy Bri was. The narrarator did a terrible job with her voice also. I think I would have prefered this book in paperback format. The storyline was fine and the characters in typical Patterson style. Enjoyable by any standard.

Double Cross Review

Just finished Double Cross. Book started out real strong. Good sub plots going on however I felt author lost some direction in the later chapters. It may have been his use of supporting information and or the over use of it Thank you

Loved it!!

I have read some of the reviews and honestly I don't know how you can't really enjoy this book!!!Alex Cross is the man!!! I was into the story from the beginning and held on until the end...Pattersons descriptions always paint such graphic pictures from locations to characters and their mannerisms. I think this is a great read. I loved the narraters and can't wait for the new Alex Cross novel!

Wow...

Just when you think there absolutely no other sequels that can be added to a series... BAM... there it is. I loved it. Can't wait for the next Cross book.

Very fun!

Enjoyed it! If you like the usual Alex Cross books, you'll definitely like this one. The narrator is perfect for Cross.

Same stuff - for better or worse.

The reviews are mixed. Most loved the book and some are finding Patterson/Cross to be a bit tedious. They are both right. This book stays pretty close to the basic format of the previous Cross books and there are no great surprises. If you like the Alex Cross series you will like this book. If you never have or are getting tired of him then you probably won't. If you are unfamiliar with this series and want a good story that does not pretend to be high prose then this is worth a shot.

I thought the narrators were very good. I do find Patterson's frequent mentioning of prior books to be at times a bit forced and usually self serving.

Good, Patterson

Nothing to get annoyed about here. Another in the Cross series and patterson adding a little twist here. If you like Patterson you will like this title.

Great Book!

Right from the beginning, James Patterson grabs you, and keeps you transfixed. He brings into play previous Cross books, and does not disappoint the reader, thru the many twists and turns that take place.

Double Cross

I enjoyed this book very much as it was time to get to know Alex Cross from the begining. I have read every book in the series as well as most of James Patterson books.
