Good but predictable

I'm a huge BB fan. I am not, however, a fan of Will and Julia. I just didn't get the spark I usually get from a BB book. The murders were appropriately gnarly, as we've all come to expect from BB. The killer was somewhat easy to guess from early on in the book which is a little unusual with BB. Great story though. The plotline made great sense and the characters were likeable. This killer had a good reason for the path he took.

But the crime part and the investigation was good

The narrator was outstanding!! The story was wonderful!! I couldn't wait to start listening.

Add to your must read, but in sequence

Excellent mix of romance and crime suspense. Her Character development is exceptional without smothering the unique crime story line. A pleasure to read on both levels. Unfortunately the narrator spoiled the listening so much I purchased the e-book part way through and changed media, but don't be put off the enjoyment was worth the expense. What a terrible loss for her family and fans. I was so looking forward to a sequel.

Such a great read

This was such a good book. For me it started a bit slow and a bit less passionate compared to her other books however it got interesting fast! Good story line and it was read well.

Narrator not my favorite

Great storyline and characters. I did not take to the narrator…. Very irritating half singing in her narration … no not for me

Good story

It was a bit too easy to pinpoint the killer though. I knew right away who he or she was at the first mention of her or him. The story was enjoyable despite that.

Karen White is a great narrator.

Which character – as performed by Karen White – was your favorite?

I like Karen's male voices so I purchased these two books. Not sure if I would buy Barton's books if not read by K White.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to book 1 and 2 straight through. Independent stories, but as all authors of series, author links the characters from 1 & 2. I liked #2 better, so I you only get 1 get this one.

These 2 books had some humor, which Karen does very well.

Not my favorite

I have never posted a negative review, but I just didn’t like this story. There are books that take me a little while to get into the story, I tried to until the end. The story never did grab me. I liked the book prior to this one very much!!!
