Now thats what I call a cliffhanger ending!

I just finished this book and wow. What an ending! I can't until the next one!

The book has the same familiar light and fluffy feeling of the other books.

The narrator is the same and does her always fantastic job.

Overall, if you are a fan of the Hannah Swensen books this is a must! The ending might change everything in the future for Hannah.

Recipes in the middle of chapters? Yuck!!

If you MUST read recipes into the audio book in the middle of the book, which is distracting and detracts from the story, put them in their own audio chapter so they can be skipped without the listener missing pieces of the narrative when it resumes!!

Food Network meets Murder She Wrote

Would you listen to Devil’s Food Cake Murder again? Why?

No- it's a great light read and time waster

What did you like best about this story?

Like a soap opera I want to find out who Hannah will end up with - personally - I'm on team Norman

What about Suzanne Toren’s performance did you like?

She expresses well

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No

Any additional comments?

Makes me want to bake

I'm a fan of the series but.....

Hannah's incessant musings about her love life are wearing thin. The mysteries are also getting more routine.

My ears are still bleeding.

What would have made Devil’s Food Cake Murder better?

An actual story.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Anything but something by this author.

What aspect of Suzanne Toren’s performance would you have changed?

I cannot blame the reader. She did the best she could, given the source material.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Devil’s Food Cake Murder?

Everything except the recipes; but especially the horribly contrived chapter on gun rights.

Any additional comments?

I couldn't believe it when I found out that the author has a whole series of these horrible pieces of drivel. She actually managed to throw in a chapter on gun rights along with her religious overtones and wildly predictable "mystery". I was on a road trip across the country with my wife so our mutual mocking of this horrendous piece of crap helped pass the time. Now I understand why it was on sale for 4 bucks.

Put recipes together at the end

I love the books. However I believe it would be better if instead of at the end of a chapter all the recipes were put together at the end of the book.

Cute

Haven’t tried the recipes, but the book was ok. Cute little story. Forgettable, but a decent listen.

I did not think I was buying a cookbook!

The whole series has been about mystery and RECIPES, however if one does not" Bake" then the recipes are of little value. We kept listening to the series, hoping things would improve and change. Spice it up a bit!!
The final book was the "Icing on the Cake", the story line was really getting old, regarding Hannah's indecision about the "man" she would prefer. We thought it was not very good at all, in fact horrible. We really could not wait for it to end. Please do something about the recipes. I do have some suggestions.....
Suzanne Toren did a great job at the Narration. She was very consistant with her characters!

Yummy!

An all around enjoyable book, and if you make any of the recipes, do yourself a favor and make the Chocolate Euphoria Cookie Bars. They're sinfully good :-D

need to change narrator

This is the first book of this series that I have downloaded on to my I Pod. I have always read her previous books, and have enjoyed them very much. However I will not buy any more audio books by this writer if Suzanne Toren narrates it. I found her heavy breathing very annoying. Her breathing distracted me from my story line. This is the first time that I have had such a problem while listening to audio books.
