Publisher's Summary

The tranquillity of a cruise along the Nile was shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway had been shot through the head. She was young, stylish, and beautiful. A girl who had everything...until she lost her life. Hercule Poirot recalled an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: "I'd like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger." Yet in this exotic setting nothing was ever quite what it seemed.

Poirot read by Suchet - this could never go wrong!

David Suchet is practically synonymous with Agatha Christie's Poirot, so it's simply wonderful that this audiobook is read by Suchet. His characterisations are perfect, subtle and entertaining, which make these audiobooks great listening. Dive in and enjoy this tale of mystery and murder of the picturesque River Nile, you'll be spellbound.

Different to the movie in telling ways, but excellent.

David Suchet narrating Poirot is a must!

Superb narration of one of my favourite Poirot stories. Poirot is brought to life in this retelling.

A generally pleasant listen.

Would recommend this book to a friend but it does require some suspension of disbelief. Also the characters are very Christie and whether or not you see that as positive or negative is up to you.

David Suchet will always be the best Poirot. What a wonderfully clever author Agatha Christie was. A winning combination.

A classic who-dun-it....

A well known Christie with the narration by David Suchet all that's needed is a cup of tea and a comfy chair.

Brilliant !

Spend a credit, kick off your shoes and listen.

Not the best voice for narration

But great story line! Some of the voices he puts on for the characters are painful to listen to but it didn't mar my enjoyment too much.

Poirot himself

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

as a massive Agatha Christie fan Death on the Nile is a must, and being able to hear it straight from Poirot himself is a bonus. can be a bit slow to get going but bear with it as once you get past the initial character intros and set up the story develops nicely.

Have you listened to any of David Suchet’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I have a few Poirot stories narrated by David and I enjoy his narration mainly has his voice is so familiar.

No more voice characterisations, please,

Even you, David Suchet's, do not have 'the gift'. You attempt to voice all the characters in the story and you ruin the story, as originally intended by the author. Believe me, it can't be done out of one throat.
