Editorial Reviews

In this installment of the Bruce Kohler Mystery series, Death Will Extend Your Vacation, our returning protagonists, the recovering alcoholic Bruce, his counselor Barbara, and friend Jimmy are staying "clean and sober" at their vacation condo in the Hamptons, when they are suddenly thrust into another murder whodunnit investigation.

The body of their housemate, Clea, is found on the shore; the victim of foul play. Could one of her many boyfriends, all in recovery for various substance abuses, be the murderer? The crack team of three aim to find out.

Narrated in the cool tones of an amateur sleuth by Mark Boyett, whose voice also sounds very similar Willem Dafoe.

Publisher's Summary

A carefree summer in Deadhampton turns lethal when the tide washes in the body of Clea, an investigative journalist whose passions included environmental issues and more than her share of boyfriends. The suspects are all in 12-step programs, but somebody's not abstaining from murder. Soon Bruce, Jimmy and Barbara are up to their necks in sleuthing. As the summer heats up, secrets and lies start buzzing around this dream vacation like flies at a beach picnic. Bruce must find answers by Labor Day without getting himself killed.

Listeners who fell in love with Bruce, Barbara, and Jimmy on their previous outings will see a new side of them as they slather on sunblock and snoop their way through the Hamptons.

Great descriptions, light comedy, suspense and a once in a life vacation

Mixed tale of unique cast of characters. Some I think I may know or have run in to at some point. Enjoyable tale.
