Great Thriller! Very Suspensful!

Yes! It was an excellent thriller with good characters and some very nice narration.

A taught and suspense filled thriller!

How would you respond to a terrorist attack, or a huge hurricane barrelling down on you? How about both at once? Greg Hernandez gives a brilliant performance and perfectly compliments this lightening paced thriller that Andrew Cunningham has penned. Highly recommended!

At the beginning of this book I was sort of startled by how simply and easily the catastrophic events seemed to happen. It's as if the author (and the narrator) were nonchalant about it (no spoilers, this is chapter 1). But I realized as the book went on that when terror attacks occur, that's how it feels. It just happened. That absolutely catastrophic, terrifying thing just... happened. In this case, it was the bridges to Cape Cod that were destroyed and that was only the beginning. Cunningham does a stellar job of taking the reader through what felt like a true-crime style series of events of real acts of terrorism.

Additionally, this book features characters from all walks of life in a colorful and truly diverse representation of people. My favorite character, Ann, is a badass old lady. Read this book to fall in love with Ann, too. You won't regret it!

Surprising and Good

I like stories like this where there's a crisis and you get to see how the crisis effects average people, both well-intentioned and people with ill intentions. At first, I wasn't sure who to root for, and I liked how the author changed my opinion about one of the characters over the course of the story.

The narrator was excellent and did a great job with both the pace and the voices. He wasn't overly dramatic when it would have been really easy to do so, and he did an especially good job doing the voice of a frightened old woman.

Near the start, it took me a little while to figure out who was who and what was going on, but then things started falling into place.

Overall, this was a good thriller that made me want to curl up with a hot coco.

Good story, terrible narrator

The narrator was awful. Sounded like an AI robot. No inflection or emotion. Took away from the story.

Fast Moving Thriller

What made the experience of listening to Deadly Shore the most enjoyable?

Clean cut story that moves.

What about Greg Hernandez’s performance did you like?

Solid performance that in no way distracted from the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. There were no slow parts. The main characters were likable and the premise, though a bit over the top, put you in the "what would I do" frame of mind.

A great story

This is a great story about a hurricane and terrorists. What more can you ask for. Oh yeah, a little romance. I received this for free, but voluntarily reviewed.

Very entertaining and engaging story. It pulls you in from the start. Having lived on Cape Cod for several years I could picture the areas in my head which just added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

Plenty of fast paced action, intrigue and mystery with an interesting storyline.

Great cast of well rounded characters. When an author can make you actually like one of the "bad" guys and root for him in the end, you know the characters are well done.

Love the description of the characters before Sara knew their names. In her head she calls them Clint Eastwood, pudgy guy, bushes guy to tell them apart. It was a fun and creative way to describe them instead of just guy 1,2 or 3.

Even though you know early on who is behind the events taking place the thrill of the chase and the race against the clock keeps you glued to the story. Can they find him in time before he carries out his full plan?

The combination of a terrorist attack combined with a major hurricane barreling down on the Cape was a great scenario. In reality it's a scary thought to think about how easily the people on the Cape could be trapped with no way of escape in a situation like this.

You never know how a major event in someone's life will effect them long term. Everyone handles grief differently. Grief and loss can send some people over the edge.

Greg Hernandez did a really good job with the narration. Nice voice. Easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Good character voices. Even though there is not much difference between his male and female character voices, I love that he didn't try to do a high falsetto voice for Sara. I hate when narrators do that. He wasn't just reading story. He was able to pull you into the story through his narration and bring the story to life. Very enjoyable
