Publisher's summary

In this delicious follow-up to Murder on the Rocks, developers have returned to Cranberry Island. This time, they're planning to wipe out a natural cranberry bog, along with the island's namesake berries, to build a luxury subdivision. Natalie Barnes isn't sweet on the idea of commercial interests souring their cozy oasis, but the single innkeeper has other problems on her plate: a withering relationship with her best friend Charlene, the sudden appearance of her ex-fiancé with a tempting proposal, and eerie bumps in the night suggesting the Gray Whale Inn is haunted. Worst of all, there's a killer on the loose, picking off people like ripe fruit.

When Charlene's lover - the handsome chaplain with a stake in the development - is stabbed to death, Natalie promises to find the murderer for her grief-stricken friend, who's also the number one suspect.

Great story, bad reading

I love these simple, easy stories in this series. You can really lose yourself in the tale. The reading, however, sounds like an auto reader combined with bits of actual narration inserted. It is extremely distracting. Before ordering the next in the series, I will surely listen to the sample. If it sounds the same, I will do some old-fashioned reading instead.

Mysterious and Heartwarming

I Loved it! Mysterious, Interesting, heartwarming and with a little romance all rolled into this wonderfully written and narratored book. Well worth sharing and I look forward to finding more from this author and narrator.

Natalie suck

This was just bad. Natalie is a doormat and doesn’t know how to run her business. The mystery parts are good but the characters are just weak.

Disappointed

Thought I had found another good series to listen to after completing book one. But, like another listener had pointed out, the person narrating the book was terrible in her use of “i said-he said-they said” - etc.. I knew there was something naggingly wrong and it became very apparent in the second book. Not good reading!!
Also, too much romance started creeping in for my taste. Being a guy, I can handle a little bit but this started becoming part of the main theme so I have to give up on this one even though it’s well written and the back and forth banter was excellent. Even the mild way the story concerned murder was well done. Whomever is in charge of assigning a narrator needs to review this series and make some changes. Very disappointed!
