Publisher's Summary

In Dead Woman Walking, from master of suspense Sharon Bolton, the sole survivor of a hot-air balloon crash witnesses a murder as the balloon is falling.

Just before dawn in the hills near the Scottish border, a man murders a young woman. At the same time, a hot-air balloon crashes out of the sky. There's just one survivor. She's seen the killer's face - but he's also seen hers. And he won't rest until he's eliminated the only witness to his crime. Alone, scared, trusting no one, she's running to where she feels safe - but it could be the most dangerous place of all....

You need patience for this book. Not because it is slow! Because if you don’t focus, You find yourself rewinding a lot to comprehend just 10/ 15seconds of what is taking place. The story goes back-and-forth from present day to 20 years past, and in between. Just when you think you have figured out a certain situation, you are surprised to find you were wrong. A very richly weaved story.

The story and ending blew me away. The ending kept giving surprises to the listener/reader. I cannot say all the other reasons why I loved it without spoilers, and ther is such an unfolding of this story, it's best to experience it for yourself!! I did not find there was an over use of swear words at all, to address previous reviews, all languages used fit whomever was speaking at the time. Which brings me to the narrator, who did a fine job as well. Her voice transformed for each character she spoke for. Phenomenal story, and a magnificent listen.

Unbelievable story.

Disappointed by this book. Plot was far fetched and boring. She kept bouncing around way too much. I’m not sure why all authors feel that they need to add the F word to every new book they write but beware there are a lot of them.

Her best

Have listened to all her English version books and proclaim this to be her best. In her other books her endings were the low point of the books, not so here.
