Publisher's Summary

UPDATE FOR ANYONE WHO PURCHASED THIS AUDIO TITLE PRIOR TO MAY 10 2017:
The complete audiobook edition of DEAD SOULS is now available.

The truth was dead and buried...until now.

When a collection of human bones is unearthed during a routine archaeological dig, a Black Country field suddenly becomes a complex crime scene for Detective Kim Stone.

As the bones are sorted, it becomes clear that the grave contains more than one victim. The bodies hint at unimaginable horror, bearing the markings of bullet holes and animal traps.

Forced to work alongside Detective Travis, with whom she shares a troubled past, Kim begins to uncover a dark, secretive relationship between the families who own the land in which the bodies were found.

But while Kim is immersed in one of the most complicated investigations she's ever led, her team are caught up in a spate of sickening hate crimes. Kim is close to revealing the truth behind the murders yet soon finds one of her own is in jeopardy - and the clock is ticking. Can she solve the case and save them from grave danger before it's too late?

An addictive, sinister crime thriller that will have listeners on the edges of their seats.

    "RE-DOWNLOAD TO GET MISSING CHAPTERS"
Would you consider the audio edition of Dead Souls to be better than the print version?

Problem with download. If you came to a cliffhanger ending, or if the book just suddenly stopped after chapter 100, delete and re-download the book. I did this and now have an additional 16 chapters, at least an extra 35 minutes of audio. Total number of chapters should be 116.

I love espionage, legal, and detective thrillers but listen to most genres. Very frequent reviews. No plot spoilers! Please excuse my typos!

"Almost as good as the first 5 books in the series"

The first five novels in Angela Marsons' Detective Kim Stone mystery thriller series earned 5 stars. Dead Souls, a new release, comes very close to 5 stars. It i a wonderful suspense thriller with an excellent plot twist near the end. English actor Jan Cramer performs at her usual 5 star level in narrating. I highly recommend this British crime thriller series.

    Any additional comments?

I have been a Marsons' fan since the first Kim Stone novel. She develops believable characters and interesting plots. This book stands as a strong entry in the series, even though I figured out the baddie about halfway through. Ms. Cramer is, as always, a superb reader that seems like an old friend as she brings the characters to life. Unlike some others who complained, I received the entire book, and was happy with the purchase. It is well worth a credit if you like character driven crime thrillers.

"Not the best in the series"

I've read the entire Kim stone serious and they have always kept my interest but I found myself distracted while listening to this many times. It did not hold my interest and I thought that the story was a bit week and not developed enough. Hoping the next one will be better narration was great as usual

"Enjoyed the book then stops dead"

I was really enjoying the book but then it suddenly stops. There's no real ending I don't know if there's another book to follow or if there's a fault with the recording.
