John Connolly writes books I can’t stop listening to.

I’m in my happy place when listening to the Charlie Parker series. The story is perfectly written with the best choices of vocabulary that thrill’s me.

Annoying narration

You’ll get used to the narrators voice after a while, but his annoying mispronunciation of words, some over and over, distract from the story. I found I had to go back and re-listen to passages because my train of thought switched from the story to thinking about the bizarre pronunciation of some of his words.

Obsessed

I am already in love with this series and so glad it’s a long one!!

Just as good the second time around

This has always been a favorite series of mine. As I reread the books for the second or third time, I find they get better and better. Charlie, Louis, and Angel are three dimensional, riveting characters. The twisted takes get better each time if possible.

The narrator keeps thrilling you through every chapter.

Another Great Parker Book With Less Than Great Narration

I’m not sure who directs the voice narration in these books, but they really should be fired. Allowing Jeff Harding to continually mispronounce names, locations, and simple words is silly. Every time he utters the name “Cheryl” with a hard “ch” sound, takes me right out of the story. I think Jeff needs a new career. His work on Every Dead Thing was equally horrendous.

The book… is good. Of course it is!

A Tense Drama

This is a great read! I loved this book...so much so that I want more stories of the main character. Going to go right now to see if there is a series available. I like it when a character so engages me that I don't want to let go of them.

A great story and reader continues the series

Connolly uses beautiful language to tell his story. Carlie Parker is a one of a kind character full of pain and contradictions. Dark Hollow is a sad story that continues the gritty series featuring Charlie Parker and his crew of deadly friends. What a story.
