Leave out the political bias

I have greatly enjoyed Kate Wilhelm’s prior novels. However, with this one, she wrote in her biased liberal progressive political viewpoints into the main characters. For those of us who are conservatives, it was a turn off. Kate is extremely talented, and she doesn’t need to make political statements in her works. This kind of explicit bias may have lost her the conservative audience (half of the USA population).

Always a pleasure listening to Kate her stories are exciting and surprise endings are always a pleasure she is one of my favorites

Fruit of the vine

When she is not extolling the pleasures of a glass of fine wine, Kate Wilhelm tells a fine story of murder and mystery in the State of Oregon. This is another entertaining adventure of Barbara Holloway and her cast of supporting characters. The Plot is well done and moves at a good pace. However, the story is a bit slow to develop. Narration is very well done and is a solid addition to this book. Recommend this for lovers of the genre.

Slow burn

Really enjoyed this one. It was a slow burn but quite a twist and HEA!

Politically motivated

I had noticed this series followed a general bent that portrays politically conservative characters as lacking a moral compass. This particular book did not veer from that path. Please surprise me next time. Otherwise a good yarn.

2nd Book of hers I've read; same problem in both

In each book the story revolves around a defense lawyer trying to build a case to prove her client's innocence. The problem is that in both books one wonders what evidence the prosecution has against the client! In both cases there is no real evidence pointing to the client, and the cases are laughably circumstantial. I know this is a book of fiction, and a light read, but all I could think about was how weak the prosecution's case was, and that in reality, no prosecutor would take on such a case. Couldn't take the story seriously. Thank goodness it was a freebie.

I’ve been enjoying these books. Could do without pushing some of the political agenda stuff.

I am addicted to this series. love it! Makes you think outside the box. getting ready for the next in the series.

Cold Case

This is the first time I listened to this author. Enjoyed the storyline and the charaters. I will be seleting more of her books. I am excited to have found this Author.
