Publisher's summary

Just before Christmas, Nikki Thomas lost her childhood friend, Katherine, when they were 10 years old. The case rocked the neighborhood of Willow Creek in 1988. Kat's mother was convicted of her murder, but no body was ever found. Now, 12 years later, Nikki's memory goes back to her childhood when her mother gives her some old Christmas ornaments. Her mind starts racing, wondering if Kat's mother really murdered her. As memories continue to haunt her, Nikki decides to visit Kat's childhood home, but finds that her house is no longer in existence. Before she knows what hit her, an accident sends Nikki back in time, just prior to Kat's death. Thinking she is either dreaming or deceased, Nikki is forced to live as a 10-year-old child with an adult mind. Nikki thinks she could learn the truth about the crime since she knows when it will happen. Could she prevent it from happening or perhaps, witness who was responsible for Kat's disappearance? If Nikki's trip back to 1988 is just a hallucination, would the mystery be solved? Find out in this holiday time travel mystery!

Light & entertaining

A decent story, and entertaining. Not especially fond of thee reader, since she sounds like a little girl all the time. The voice becomes grating after a while.

don't pass this one up

It has more twist the old ivy. Love the characters and how they reacted to each other.

An ouch! to my ears :(

Every year I look forward to finding a new Christmas mystery or two to enjoy over the holidays. Unfortunately, this audible read was not one. After slogging thru almost 2 hours of painful narration, hoping that surely at some point the narrator might warm to her characters, improve her intonation, punctuation and voices, and/or perhaps do a 'practice read' of the chapter before indelibly committing it to sound, I had to give up.
Ms. Worthy does NOT give a 'worthy' performance to this story, and although the premise of the tale intrigues me, I have to turn to other options for my audible Christmas reading, and perhaps see if I can find Kelli Landon's book in Kindle or paperback to find out how it all works out for Kat and Nikki !

Reader is too stiff

I can't even get through the first chapter, the lady reading sounds like she is reading a book to children- she does not portray the voice of the story because she is so stiff and maintains the same overexcited/nervous voice for every sentence.
