Publisher's summary

Mr. Shaitana is famous as a flamboyant party host. Nevertheless, he is a man of whom everybody is a little afraid. So when he boasts to Hercule Poirot that he considers murder an art form, the detective has some reservations about accepting a party invitation to view Shaitana's "private collection".

Indeed, what begins as an absorbing evening of bridge is to turn into a more dangerous game altogether.

Implausible Plot, Fun Twists and Turns, Stellar Narration

Hugh Fraser does his usual excellent narration with the perfect Poirot, somehow completely believable women’s voices, and everyone else in this completely implausible yet fun mystery. My one regret is that there isn’t more Ariadne Oliver, the shambling apple-chomping mystery writer who makes her first appearance here. But a delightful use of an Audible credit — painted an entire room of my house while Poirot and amis kept me company.

Great Story, Glitches Throughout

I really enjoy when Hugh Fraser narrates these stories! He always does a great job! Just in terms of information-there were glitches throughout the story, kind of like "skips" in the narrative. If those can be fixed, the narration will run smoothly. :)

Cards on the Table

This was a fun mystery that was professionally read by Hugh Fraser. Fraser played Hastings in the BBC series.

A Tiger Did It

Would you consider the audio edition of Cards on the Table to be better than the print version?

I haven't yet read the print edition, but I very much enjoyed Hugh Fraser's performance.

What did you like best about this story?

The limited pool of suspects made for an interesting whodunnit.

Which scene was your favorite?

The end of a Christie book is always a favorite.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I chuckled in a few places, mostly due to Mr. Fraser's charming voices.

Couldn't stop listening!

The good news: Christie never disappoints. The bad news: I wanted to listen to this in one sitting and not get anything else done! This was suspenseful to the last minute. You think you know who the killer is about three times and you keep being wrong!

Excellent Story and Narration

Agatha doesn’t disappoint with this unique story and Hugh Fraser’s narration is terrific, as usual.
