A truly inventive, beautifully written, exquisitely read novel that is a joy to read.
A perfect book — with the taste of North Africa that makes one feel one has lived a lifetime there, a amazingly engaging heroine, and a background of spirit, sociopolitical truths, and magic. One of the favorite books of my life — and many others’. A superb production of it, too.

Suspend Disbelief And Enjoy.
A great plot, if one can suspend disbelief, and a fine adventure story. The end was rather disappointing and one felt that the publishers said: "Re-write, our readers want a happy ending no matter how unbelievable. But, for a light story, it wasn't bad.
