Absolutely Stellar Read

She has done it again. This was an absolute Stellar read. I thoroughly enjoy and J. D. Robb’s writing. I have probably read every book she has written (under both names). I can go back and reread her books when ever….To me that makes a great author.

J.D. has written another winner. Susan Erickson is an amazing story teller. I would recommend this took.

Eve and Peabody have a normal case for a change!

These books are written so that there is very little time that passes from one book to the next, so it was a relief that this story was a little less high profile and time sensitive. The last 10 books or so have had the girls going from one major case to the next and I was starting to feel like it was no longer believable (or as believable as a futuristic book can be). No real cop goes from one major case to the next, to the next and so on. So a back to reality book was much needed.

The last look was my favorite, and this one is a close second. It's worth the credit and the time!

Ms Ericksen continues with her excellent performance of all the characters. J.D.Robb shows continued character growth with my favorite Series.

This actress/reader ruined Peabody for me!

What made the experience of listening to Calculated in Death the most enjoyable?

I have read every single book in this series and have really enjoyed them all. By this point, a lot of these characters feel as familiar as family members.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Susan Ericksen?

ANYBODY else. She made Delia Peabody sound like a really dumb hick which really ruined my enjoyment of the whole thing. Peabody is my favorite character!

Always so good

I listened to this book after first reading it. I think I like the audible book better. Better able to cement the characters in my head.

Nora Roberts never disappoints. I love all the In Death books. Just hate having to wait 6 months for the next book.

Least favorite of all her books

Susan Ericksen = brilliant. She IS this series and all its characters.

J.D. Robb = brilliant. I love everything she writes under this pseudonym, HOWEVER, this was, by far, my least favorite of all of her books. It felt a little bit empty -- like she wasn't really into it this time and was just plodding along 'cause she had to. Please keep in mind that I am comparing her to herself and this did not resonate like all the others.
