Publisher's summary

Quite naturally, Bubba's got another problem. The woman he likes, a lot, is missing. Folks around Pegramville don't have an inkling whether Bubba done did anything this time. In fact, Bubba doesn't know what to think, but he is plumb dedicated on finding Willodean Gray, through fair means or foul. It will take a trip to the big city of Dallas, a run-in with an unstable superhero called The Purple Singapore Sling, a kidnapping by a Dallas crime lord, and a headlong hunt for a devious individual who snatched the fair sheriff's deputy to figure out which end is up. What Bubba comes to understand is not all the crazy folks live in the country. Bubba's on the edge and he's goin' hog-wild in a donut factory! Book three of the Bubba series.

Rollicking fun!

If you could sum up Bubba and the Missing Woman in three words, what would they be?

Entertaining, lovable, charming

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bubba - he's humble, intrepid and adorable.

Have you listened to any of Mike Alger’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. The narration of this book is naturally more animated due to the personalities of the characters. The voices of all the characters are well done and easy to distinguish from one another.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh out loud!

Any additional comments?

I'm looking forward to more from this author!

Bubba does it again!

Would you listen to Bubba and the Missing Woman again? Why?

Yes, I can't wait until Audible has another Bubba adventure available.

What did you like best about this story?

C.L. Bevill has small town Texas nailed! Her descriptions of the people and places are wonderful. The tales are flush with Texas humor. The stories are wonder action mysteries. I was on the edge of my seat worried about 'The Missing Woman' to the last chapter.

Have you listened to any of Mike Alger’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first exposure to Mr. Alger's Narration, but I can't imagine anyone else telling Bubba's stories. I would be curious to see what else he has done.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

So many. The man with the Hounds telling Bubba he wouldn't take his money. The little girl realizing Bubba loves her aunt. I can't say Bubba doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but he has a lot more kind one. He goes out of his way to be respectful to pretty much anyone.

Any additional comments?

When ever possible my wife and I prefer Audio books for stories we are both interested in. Cuts down on fights over who reads a book first and exchanges like "Have you got to the part...DON'T TELL ME DON'T TELL ME DONT TELL ME!"
I hope the rest of Bubba's adventures make it in to Audio format...SOON!

OMG!!!

I loved this book!!! I love all of the Bubba books I have read so far. But finally being able to listen to one for the first time was fantastic!! Finally hearing what the characters sound like is so funny!!
The narrator did a fantastic job! The storyline was great! And I am happy that they finally give some background info on Willodean's background and introduce her family.

Amusing read

Where does Bubba and the Missing Woman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was not the typicle book I read but not bad. It was amusing and had a southern flair.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bubba, he was just a character in a redneck kinda way. What's not to like about a true southern boy.

What does Mike Alger bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His mastery of the southern dialect. Made me feel like I was home again. I didn't know Mike had that kind of range. Great job.

Any additional comments?

I know what Mike's day job is and I think he is best I have ever seen. I hope he keeps up with all his endeavors.
