Terrific mystery

I loved the character Ro Teegarden! This mystery is perfect for readers who like suspense without horrifying details. I'll definitely continue listening to this series. I really enjoyed the narrator!

Average

For me this was an average story, not horrible but did not have me at the edge of my seat wanting more either. This is the second book in the series and I am having a hard time liking the main character which is surprising because I have LOVED all of Ms. Harris' other books and lead characters. Narration was well done.

An exciting mystery with characters you care about

Loved it. Wanted an exciting, page turner, that didn't darken my mood as I listened. This series fits the bill! Enough character and scenic descriptions to make you feel like you are moving through a real space, and enough suspense to keep the page turning. One it got to the climax, even my daughter was hanging on every word! Good job done by the narrator! Give the book a shot!

Gentle mystery

A pretty good story. I watched the movie first so I was expecting Aurora to solve the mystery. However, in the book it just kinda unfolds. I like that there is some mystery, and a little romance without anything graphic or inappropriate. I recommend if you are in the mood for a light story and few giggles

Team Teagarden All the Way!!!

Where does Bone to Pick rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Bone to Pick ranks pretty high among the audiobooks I have consumed. It kept my attention start to finish.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it was engaging, funny, and an enjoyable read (listen).

Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

All of them. Some books really don't transfer well to audio, mainly because the characters are not distinctive enough for you to recognize them based on their actions/attitudes/tone. But Ms. Harris defined distinct characters who stand out alone.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was, and yes I did.

Another Entertaining Chapter

Any additional comments?

This is the point in the series where our librarian heroine becomes unexpectedly well off, freeing her up to spend more time investigating mysteries. I was pretty surprised at the direction Roe's love life takes at the beginning of this book. As fans of the series may know Roe's love life is something of a challenge. Like all Charlaine Harris books, we hear a lot about that and about what Roe is wearing etc. Similarly typical is that not everything that occurs seems entirely likely, but this does not diminish my enjoyment. But there is a mystery that gets solved, and an exciting ending. Good installment in the series.

good steady story, but not my favorite series.

just like the title says. Aurora Teagarden stories are well written, steady entertainment but not my favorite series. they pass the time, though. i think it's mostly because I' don't really like the narrator, that our takes away from the story for me.

A Little Too Cute and Too Southern..,

...for this city girl. There’s a lot about life in a southern town and a dated interest in the narrator’s love life.

The narrator was fine.

Another Meander with Aurora

In this installment we jump over the possible double lover dilemma that ended the first book and go straight into the aftermath of both a failed relationship and the death of a friend. It is another slow meandering stroll through Roe's life and it is mostly pleasant, witty, and humorous enough. The biggest problem with this story is that, even more so than in the first, the solution to the mystery is revealed rather than solved. The action at the end seems more than a little implausible as well. Moreover, we discover at the end that if Roe had been a little more methodical and a little less clever in the beginning, there would have been no mystery for her to solve--or attempt to solve, rather.

The narrator does a generally good job, but she does not use a Southern accent and her nasally voice doesn't hint of the South.

Still, this is a mildly enjoyable pleasant stroll through Aurora Teagarden's evolving life and worth the few hours of listening.
