Am I the only one bothered by this??
I haven't finished the book yet (I've read it before myself though) but I have to say how much it irritates my soul that Galen is British but the narrator reads him with a pretty noticeable Irish accent. I may be the only one but if a character is written a certain way they should be read that way.

Secrets
This was a surprising plot. The Secret Societies added another plot twist to the story. I was surprised to find them in this book. I know they really exist. You will enjoy the book.

The Narrator almost ruins the story
Eve Duncan is meant to be in her early 30s in this book. The narrator sounds to be in her 80s. Cannot manage an English or Cajun accent. It's so bad, it takes away from the story bc of how distracting it is. Hard to tell which character is meant to be speaking when they all sound the same. Even when she is Jane. There is a character that is English but she switches from an Irish accent to her "Eve" voice to someone attempting to make a random word here and there sound vaguely accented. Though what that accent is meant to be is the real mystery of the book. Same goes for the "Cajun" accent. It is embarrassing to listen to. I've read a few of Iris Johansen's Eve books so I figured I would listen to some I've missed while working. But good lord is it difficult to focus. Hopefully there is a different narrator for the other books in the series.
