Publisher's summary

Acclaimed television writer Marshall Karp has been lauded for his Mike Lomax and Terry Biggs mysteries, including The Rabbit Factory. These two contentious friends investigate Hollywood homicides that no one else will touch. In their second teaming, Lomax and Biggs are on the trail of a killer who knocked off one of the most despised men in the movie industry. There’s only one problem - the lead suspect just got plugged as well.

Really am enjoying this series

Fun follow up to Rabbit Factory. Lomax and Biggs are a very fun team. The story is solid with humor and good characters. Enjoyed the reader too. Thumbs up!

Too bad about the narrator...

Where does Bloodthirsty rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a great story - Karp's characters are lively and fun. Unfortunately, the narrator, who has a great voice, make VERY AUDIBLE mouth noises....ick! I don't want to hear all that swallowing and smacking. I listen to a lot of audio books and I've never experienced this. It kind of wrecked the listen.

Great Mystery/Thriller

Marshall Karp is GOOD. This author keeps you engaged with the story. It is anything but boring. You keep anticipating the next twist in the plot and you are not disappointed! The two Narrators: Tom Stechschulte and James Jenner are wonderful and make the story come alive as one is listening. Loved it!

Better Than An Episode of CSI: Hollywood

There isn't really that much unique out original about Lomax and Biggs. The plot here would make a great episode of CSI or Criminal Minds or almost any other cop show. But the book, and the series, have three major selling points: 1) superior narration; 2) a "laugh out loud" sense of humor; and 3) perfectly proportioned, bite-sized chunks. In other words, it's fun to listen to and exactly as long as it needs to be.

FUN

A good way to spend a rainy day (or two)! Excellent narration and characterization. First book by Karp, will not be my last.

Tons of Fun

Another fun Lomax and Biggs mystery. I felt that it took a bit to get going but in the mean time it was full of laughs and intrigue. Well written with great wit that made me laugh out loud a number of times. ‘Bloodthirsty’ is a well written romp through Hollywood, with a great set of characters that will make you thirsty for more!

Mr Stechschulte brings the characters to life and really adds to the enjoyment of the story!

Tragic story but amusing characters.

I listened to this, the second in the Lomax & Biggs series. It's a tragic story, but is not a normal mystery since we find out early on who is carrying out the killing and why. The book is better than the first, The Rabbit Factory, in that it is no longer than it needs to be; it is funnier and has more believable characters. The narrator, Tom Stechschulte, is terrific, making it much more fun to listen to than to read.

A Grammy winner!

***SPOILERS*** Another knock out! Marshall Karp did a great job in developing the characters. While the setting is still in the Hollywood industry the topic is something any parent sympathize with, the senseless killing of their child. Society sympathizes with families who find they cannot conceive but find the joy of parenthood through adopting a child. When you add that Texas justice in the picture you can image what happens. Emotional the reader has a more intense connection with the antagonist. You know what they did was wrong. The circumstances of this family make it more potent.

Terry is still funny and he has added jokes about the Hollywood industry. Lomax’s personal relationship has progressed and he is not lamenting over the death of his wife.

This is much better than the first book.

.A Terry joke: Marilyn, his wife asks, what would you do honey? Terry replies, what would I do about what? What would you do if god forbids, someone ever murder one of the girls? No question, Terry says. I’d buy and AK 47 and get revenge. What if they murdered me, Marilyn said? No question on that one either, he said, internet dating.

Horrible book

How did this book get the good reviews it got? The book was very crude, boring, predictable, and was just awful. Narrator was decent. Wanted all of the characters to die it was that bad and painful.
