Publisher's summary

High in Nepal, a monastery erupts with savagery and madness. Deep in a German mine, abomination wears the innocent face of a child. Hidden in the jungles of Africa, experiments rooted in a dark past have found fertile ground again.

Across the frozen peaks of the Himalayas to the diamond fields of the Congo, from the subterranean labs of a lost era to the bright halls of the Smithsonian, Sigma Force will face its most cunning adversaries, its most daunting challenges, and its most dire threat. The very future of mankind will belong to the victor.

For any hope of success, Painter Crowe must make a pact like no other: to align Sigma Force with an old enemy, one beyond redemption. And it will be up to Commander Gray Pierce to find the balance between salvation and damnation, even if it means sacrificing those closest to him. Still, victory is far from certain, for there are riddles that even the greatest minds were never meant to solve.

ah yes, Nazi's

Didn't think too much of this book at the beginning, but eventually the plot thickened and I was caught trying to figure out what was happening and trying to tie everything together. Narration was good and the end leaves you with a bit of a question.

Coming from Tom Clancy I love these books

I was looking for a set of books as I wait on the next Tom Clancy novel and these were suggested by a friend. I've got to say genuinely hooked and I love these books. I wanted to be able to spread them out and listen to them slowly but that's simply hasn't been in the cards. Once I start one in full mode to listen to the entire thing. I really love all the characters and I've enjoyed their Adventures. The author uses each of the characters strengths in each novel quite well. I'm really enjoying going through these. the layers of the plots are woven together really well. I find myself trying to guess how each plat ties to the other and I'm pleasantly surprised every time how it's woven together. Great books and I'm really looking forward to continuing this series.

provides interesting insight with a poor story

there's little to no drama because you know the main characters are invincible. There are many storytelling cliches played out here through character archetypes, such as the stolid leader capable of achieving much through will alone, the pure evil bad guy, the seeming bad guy proves to be not such a bad guy, the female is the essence of love and submission, etc. Not that these are necessarily bad, but the story becomes quite predictable in many ways because of them.

The meta physics presented are certainly interesting and there are a number of things concerning our physical universe that are well researched and presented in an entertaining way,.

Fast becoming a favorite

When a doctor attempts to summit Mount Everest, a weather delay at a lower camp and her desire to help ill residents of a monastery lead her into the middle of a plot to.....well, I don't want to spoil the story. Let's just say that she ends up running for her life, working with the Sigma Force team.

The Sigma Force novels are fast becoming a favorite for me. The seamless blend of historical facts with exciting action, secret government agencies and environmental issues in many cases, make for a wonderful story.

I like the evolution of the characters from book to book although you could read only one without being lost in the back story. Each story takes you to a different parts of the world painting a lovely action packed picture.

Rollins hits one out of the park!

This touches so many points of intrest...spiritual, relational, historical, quantum-physical that it easily satisfies multiple and many facited itches. This may be the perfect book for one like me with ADD. NEVER A BORING MOMENT!

Music between chapters

I have enjoyed the this book as well as the previous ones. I did not like the musical interlude between chapters.
