Interesting reading

The narrator was great and different. Less polished than some other recordings, more like I was being read to by someone in the room with me.
The story, well, I'm sure someone else has discussed this in better detail, but it was so predictably bad it doesn't seem fair to criticize.

Fun Read

Exciting thriller that kept my attention--page turner even if it was an audio book. Listened quickly to this one. Another good Patterson book that ends with flair.

Loved It!!

"Black Friday" I loved it. I hate how James Patterson rewrites his books because Black Friday is a rewrite of Black Market and I have the book Black Market but the audio to Black Friday. Even with the differences it was still a good read. And I can mark two books off my very long list. I found myself holding my breath hoping that what I knew was gonna happen didn't. I love reading these books. I do not believe I have listened to any of Peter Fernandez's other performances before, but I believe that he was perfect for this, because his voice and persona matched the story perfectly. Arch Carroll is definitely my favorite character in this book.

Entertaining

With the characteristic short chapters and thoughtful plot of the usual James Patterson novel, this entertaining story was fun to listen to. It's a fairly old recording, and it does come across that way, but the production was good and the story was engaging, so I giveth it 5 stars. Yay.

Excellent read!

Well developed characters and plot with enough twists and turns to keep the reader anxious. Enough truth to be believable and somewhat frightening.

Not his best

Good book, but a little hard to follow. James Patterson has done a lot better.

Disappointing

I love James Patterson but did not like this book at all. I found it to be somewhat boring, probably due to my lack of knowledge about the stock market. Like the other reviewer, I found myself wishing that the book would end. But I listened to the whole thing anyway since I paid for it.

Not for Alex Cross Fans

I love James Patterson's writing, especially the Alex Cross novels, however this book couldn't hold my interest at all. Like one reviewer said I kept waiting for it to be over but I listened to it because I paid for it. I hoped it would get better but it never did. I suppose if I had any interest at all in the stock market world I may have enjoyed it more. It was however, read beautifully so if you are a stock market enthusiast then try it out!

Patterson not at his best

I rated this book at only two stars based on the other books I've read by James Patterson. I am a big fan of his work, but this one seemed to fall short. The progression of the story was slow and tedious at times, and I found myself checking my listening device to see how much time was left. It was a process of personal endurance for me to finish this book. This is the only Patterson book to which I've had such a reaction. I'd recommend any of his other works as excellent suspense stories and would suggest checking those out and skip this one.

Not up to usual level for Patterson

I was very disappointed in Black Friday. As other reviewers have stated, the pace was slow and the end/solution not at all satisfying. I was also hit by too many technical mistakes (as a retired officer) when Patterson was talking about the military (for example, when he said a Special Forces Colonel in full dress uniform was wearing a red beret - they don't call them the Green Berets for nothing). I can only hazard a guess how many he made with regards to the stock market or finance. The slow pace and technical errors made a very long listen for this book.
