Bitter Intent

Would you listen to Bitter Harvest again? Why?

I have listened to the book a second time because any book reveals things missed on the first listen.

Would you be willing to try another book from Sheila Connolly? Why or why not?

I so far like all of Sheila Connolly's books even though some of the characters are very unlikeable or side plot lines are sometimes downright unbelievable. Nonetheless the basic story of the books are interesting, and mostly a fun listen and can hold my attention.

Have you listened to any of Robin Miles’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Robin Miles is consistent throughout the series. Always a reliable listen where each person is identifiable from book to book. Her inflections are great giving a real boost to the story every time.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Bitter Intent is not a book that would make a great movie as much depends on knowing the background history of the characters and plots. It's just not that interesting to be a movie.

Any additional comments?

Even though I did enjoy the book I found it a stretch to have someone harassing Meg that had no part in a past book in the series. It just was not believable but the story itself is interesting enough to give it 3 stars.

Slow

This book was slow and didn't really keep my attention. Didn't keep me guessing on who was behind it.

Love Sheila Connolly's writing!

What made the experience of listening to Bitter Harvest the most enjoyable?

All of the books in this series are linked. The story develops with each new book, I know there are more in the series than are available on Audible, I hope this gets corrected soon.

What about Robin Miles’s performance did you like?

Very well read and played as always.

not as good as the others

This book is different from the others in the series. There is no murder but Meg does set out to solve a mystery. She also makes some unbelievable odd choices based on the weather and everyone went along like it was normal. All in all it was an okay book. I will probably read the next one in the series. I am very disappointed that the recipes are not included in the version offered by audible.
