HATED the ending
I don't want to ruin this book for anyone, but I found the ending to be truly awful. This book was incredibly suspenseful and original in its story line, but I hated they way I felt when it was over. I'm unsettled and not in a good way. I didn't find the end to be clever, but written specifically for shock value. I hated it. I wish I had never spent my time listening to this book. I'm saddened by it.

A top 2 all-time fav psychological thriller!
I go through at least 1 psychological/crime thriller every week, and this makes top 2. Definitely not for anyone who has a problem with suspension of disbelief, but if you're looking for twists and turns that are completely unpredictable and goosebump-inducing, this is it!

Annoyed by end of book--
Would you try another book from Sarah Pinborough and/or the narrators?

gripping, full of twists but a disconnected ending
This was a great thriller in terms of pacing, mystery, suspense and curiosity. However, there were significant chunks of story in which I felt very out of the loop-- essentially, there was "too much suspense". In turn, I thought the reader needed some clues as to what was going on -- even a little bit, to make sense of everything. This disconnection made the ending feel rushed and extremely weird (like other reviewers noted) the theme of the ending was not even in the same genere as the book as a whole. If it was more clear from the start what themes may occur, it would've helped the cohesiveness of the conclusion. It was not a "bad" or "disappointing" ending, it was just odd and removed from the overall story. But the overall writing and character development was solid enough to make it a decent book. There were points where I got confused of who was narrating and had to re-listen many times.
