Great series!

'B' is for Bad Girls by Rebecca Cantrell & Sean Black, narrated by Madeline Mrozek is Book 2 in the Malibu Mystery series. I loved the storyline in this one! So much happens in this audiobook...the writing is excellent! While you could listen to this one as a stand-alone, it's really so much better if you start at the beginning. Originally, I didn't start with Book 1, but I'm now in the process of making my way through. I'm so happy I decided to do that because the character development is great, and you will soon feel like you've know these characters forever.

If you have read any of my other reviews, you know I love listening to Madeline Mrozek's narration. Again, she does not disappoint! Her performance here is outstanding. She has a way of pulling listeners in and keeping them engaged all the way through to her last word. She comes across as calm and controlled, while at the same time welcoming and funny! I can't explain it really, but when I listen to her, my stress of the day fades away. She brings stories to life and gives personalities to characters. If you haven't listened to her, you must! You will be happy you did. :-)

I give 'B' is for Bad Girls (Malibu Mystery) by Rebecca Cantrell & Sean Black, narrated by Madeline Mrozek 5/5 stars. It's engaging and funny, and its quick-moving storyline and well-developed characters will keep you listening. I recommend this book and series to those who enjoy funny, clean mysteries. You deserve some "me time;" this series is a great place to start! Enjoy!

Thank you for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. Happy listening! :-)

Here comes trouble worthy of TMZ

Continuing the series, our authors and performer bring us another fun yet complex mystery! I love these characters and they are personified by the performance. Each character is uniquely portrayed. Bravo!

Great start, but ending seemed rushed

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, it was a fun story. Nice, light fluff that gets me through cleaning and driving to work.

What was most disappointing about Rebecca Cantrell and Sean Black ’s story?

I felt like the ending didn't tie up all the loose ends. It seemed rushed and actually seemed like it needed some more editing.

What aspect of Madeline Mrozek’s performance would you have changed?

I like the narrator's voice; its perfect for this kind of story. But I wish she would be more clear about which character is speaking. Sometimes different characters sound exactly the same and its hard to tell who is actually speaking; even between the male and female characters.

Do you think 'B' is for Bad Girls (Malibu Mystery) needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes! They didn't tie up all the loose ends.

Any additional comments?

This is a fun read and I'm enjoying the series.

Laugh Out Loud Comfortable Listen

The others in this series of course.

Sofia, of course.

Cute, fun and funny

I received this book for free for an honest review

First, the one pet peeve I have is when authors/narrators give books out to review but it is the 2nd, 3rd and so on in the series. Because... If I like the book (as I did this one) I already know the highlights of what happened in previous books because they put them in the subsequent books! So now when I go back to read book 1 I will know what happened 🤔 but I'm excited to move on to the next books in the series.
Ok, rant over... This book was about a former child actor who is now investigating a murder and puts herself in rehab to do so, there are funny parts everywhere in this book and I even laughed out loud a few times. She sneaks out of rehab and has to prove to her family she's not addicted to drugs because, of course, the paparazzi got pics of her leaving rehab. Overall a solid story and a fun and easy read.
The narrator did an excellent job with this book, her normal voice, dare I say it, reminds me of the one, the only, the amazing Amanda Ronconi, although she did not have as much range as her she was nice to listen to and did an great job. 👍🏻

Overall, I am definitely going back to read book one and moving forward to read the rest in the series!

Fun!!!

Another great story with Sofia. She is a former child, now an adult, television star who has given up the "fame." She just wants to live a quite life doing good for people.
As usual, her good intentions puts her in situations that become hilarious.

For a short span of the book, her niece and nephew were the most entertaining characters in the book. This is an enjoyable series with a little sleuthing and many funny situations.

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."

OK! Female PI doing her own thing.
The protagonist is likable and there is plenty of action. I liked the plot of this book, setting out to investigate if the famous singer's death

was accidental or something else. It kind of concluded the way I expected.

The narration was well done, a very enjoyable listen.

This 2nd Book is Full of laughs & entertainment!!

I read book 1 in this series and had been looking so forward to this sequel! If you haven't read book 1 yet, start there, because it will make book 2 even more enjoyable for you. I was given this second book for free by audiobook blast in exchange for an honest review.

This story continues by following Sofia as she juggles her private life & her professional life, which often times entangle and hilarity ensues. Sofia goes undercover at a rehab clinic to get insider info when an ex patient is found suspiciously dead. This is Sofia's toughest acting gig thus far, and listening to her internal dialogue as she gets into the mindset of "Drug addict Sofia" had me in fits of laughter. Trust me when I say this book will have you laughing and entertained the whole way through. I have such a fun time listening to this series, in huge part because of the wonderful narration by Madeline Mrozek. I am so excited for Book 3 to be made available on audible!
