Critic reviews

“David Wood's Atlantis hits all the marks that a blockbuster should. With rapid-fire pacing, Wood gives you perhaps his greatest Dane and Bones adventure yet with a tale that spins and reels out of control with action. With elements of mystery, lost technology and a mythical city, this book reads like vintage Clive Cussler. His best yet!” (Rick Jones, Author of The Crypts of Eden)
“Flooded with action!” (Rick Chesler, author of Solar Island)

A Mythological Adventure!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES! Great story line! If you like National Treasure, you will like this story too!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Atlantis?

There are so many memorable moments in this story. I loved the artifacts & cave scenes,. Also loved the concept that a machine from way back when could cause Tsunami's! WOW!!!

Have you listened to any of Jeffrey Kafer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

As far as I know, this is the 1st book I listened to by this narrator. He did a good job, delivered the story well, plenty of excitement!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Past & present collide with Mythology!

Any additional comments?

Excellent story! Well delivered. Loads of excitement. Murder, mayhem, mythology, puzzle solving, adventure, action-packed dangerous thrill ride!

Engaging Listen Full of Twists and Action

Would you consider the audio edition of Atlantis to be better than the print version?

I do not own a print version.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. There were turns in the story that kept me interested and guessing where things were going. The bad guys were crafty in the ways they worked to achieve their goals, and I didn't know for sure how things might end.

What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

He gets the voices and inflected attitudes of Bones and Maddock just right.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the wise cracks made by Bones.

Simple action novel, but well done

This book won't change your life, but it'll fill an afternoon well. I camr into this novel unfamiliar with the characters, as I picked it up on special. That was a little bit of a hurdle, but I really enjoyed the story anyway. The pacing was great, the story was entertaining, abd if you like action novels, this will fit on your "shelf" perfectly.

Just keeps getting better

David Wood has done it again. This latest story in the Dane Maddock Adventures is full of action, surprises, ancient mysteries and a little confliction in the team. A solid 5 star read. I look forward to listening to many more in this series. Kafer was on top form for the entire narration, he brings the characters to life as only he can.

Dane and Maddox stories are like a series of Indiana Jones/lethal weapon buddy story

I have listened to/read so many of the books in this series and just love coming back to these characters in each and every one of the books. It’s like watching old friends go on new adventures. The faults and idiosyncrasies of the characters make them relatable and easy to enjoy. The adventures are wonderful and the stories blend so much reality and fiction that heir stories have led me to many actual history books that allow me to learn more about the facts that the author uses as the basis of his story lines. The stories very much read as an Indiana Jones epic archaeology discovery with the buddy feel of lethal weapon. I so wish these books would get picked up and developed into a series on Netflix, etc. as for the narration, at this point o can imagine no one else voicing these characters and I hope the author keeps the same narrator for all Of these stories. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
