Publisher's summary

World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a cryptic symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization, the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together they embark on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth, the long-forgotten Illuminati lair.

It's ok

I gave 3 stars because it wasn't that impressive. The reader did a great job though.

Love Dan Brown Novels

I’ve been having trouble finding the time to read another Robert Langdon book, so I decided to listen instead. This narrator is terrific.

Best Narrator

Love Richard Poe (narrator). He makes you feel the story. And Dan Brown is a brilliant author, such a complex story.

Good story

The story was good but the orator kept constantly swallowing. It was quite distracting and made me feel I had to swallow for him. The orator was good other than that.

A Pleasant Surprise

Even after reading The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol, I put off reading this book for years, as it just wasn’t of particular interest to me. I’m SO glad I circled back around to it, however, because I absolutely loved the ride! Another compelling story with interesting, multi-faceted characters. Highly recommend.

meh, it was okay/good but movie is better

I rarely feel like the movie is better than the book but this is one of those rare cases. This was good for a long while, had me riveted for hours, but then became long winded and dragged a bit with so many twists and turns that were imperceivable to common sense or convincing to true motive. A bit campy a bit cheesy. Overall, I still want to listen to the next books in series but not my fav audio book. Narration was okay too. The narrator sometimes would seem to forget who was speaking and say other’s dialogue in the wrong character voice. But overall a B.

Solid Book

Richard Poe does a very good job with the narration. The book is solid and holds up. It takes awhile to pick up but once Langdon gets to Rome, that's when it gets good.
