Great book!

I love Charlaine Harris' series, and loved listening to this thriller as an audio book. The reader kept me entranced, and I felt I was right in the midst of the book (a first for an audio book for me). I would definitely recommend this book to others.

This series keeps getting better

I have read Harper Connelly mysteries 1-3, and this one was my favorite. The suspense was great, I kept looking for excuses to sit in my car and listen to it!

An OK book

The story is fine, though it's not as engaging as the Sukie series. The reader is terrible, like she's always having a cold. The voice is so old for the young character, and it's slow, emotionless and distracting.

Interesting continuation

Which character – as performed by Alyssa Bresnahan – was your favorite?

Harper

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no

Any additional comments?

Why the author decided to bring Harper and Tollliver together just escapes me. Overall a good story, drags a little here and there.

Dark & Disturbing but Good

This is much darker than my usual listens, but it's really good, too. Part of the suspense is that the reader realizes much earlier than the main characters, but we have to work alongside them while they figure it out. I know there is a broohaha about the relationship between the heroine and stepbrother, but they met when they were older kids, and bonded over a traumatic childhood. You can't make people feel like siblings, no matter how often you use the term, if they just don't. I didn't have a problem with it. This is an edge of the seat nail biter.

Harper Connelly 3rd book even better

Where does An Ice Cold Grave rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This story is truly gut wrenching and there will be times that it is truly upsetting but when you are dealing with serial killers it is the case. Young boys are disappearing and a law enforcement individual called on Harper to see if maybe she could find these boys. Many people are skeptical but this officer got Harpers name from some one who believes that she can help. And she does, and finds out such horrible things it's almost destroying her to keep going there are so many dead boys.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harper and Tollover they make these stories strong.

What does Alyssa Bresnahan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She's great in the emotions and characters, especially the really evil ones, I was very surprised.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Serial killers at their worst.

Any additional comments?

Even thought this is a really tough story to get through, the bad guys are caught. But it was a very unnerving story from start to finish. Ms Harris knows how to keep you on edge to the end.

Good Book - Good Reader - Can't wait

This was even better than the other Charlaine Harris series. Well read. Next book in the series is due in October, I am very ready. I buy almost nothing in hardcover, but this series is worth it. Just a super listen, too. The characters are believable even if you wonder about their special abilities. The voice is smooth and certain, Good read. Solid plot.

multiple dangers in a small town

Harper gets called into a small No Carolina town to see if she can find some missing boys. She does, but is attacked. Tolliver starts calling himself her business manager instead of brother and, boy, is he jealous of Manfred’s attention to her.
Yes, Harper and Tolliver’s relationship takes a turn to the more personal.
And their search takes a turn to the really dangerous.
Bresnahan does a decent job of narration.
