    "Racial"

Great story and book. James Patterson just spends too much time focusing on race and everything bad about racial relationships. It distracts from the story.

    "Poor Reading"

The plot itself is decent enough but when the reader tried to stress excitement or fast-action, he only read quicker and did not change the pitch of his voice. I was disappointed. If you really want it, it is probably worth the money but you need to be sure to use your imagination to make up for the lack of the reader's.

    "Disappointing"

Interesting storyline with enough convolutions, but trite dialog, full of well-worn cliches. And is it true that every cop cannot complete a sentence without the F word as portrayed in "Spider"?

    "OK"

The plot was good and the characters were OK. Plenty of twists and turns. I was disappointed that profanity was peppered through the book and it seemed like sex was thrown in more often than it needed to be. It didn't really advance the story.

"Charles reads well, great narrator. Loved it. "

Although I read through a few of the chapters with the book in hand. Charles made the story fun while I knitted. Thanks for the extra theatrics. They were just enough and not too leading. Really enjoyed this audio version.

    "It was ok"

Not then best book I've ever heard, but by far not the worst. Plot, story and writing all slightly above average. Yet this wasn't a must read, couldn't wait to finish, really connected with characters type book for me. If you have nothing better to listen to give it a go, if your picky skip it. The narrator was good.

    Story
    "I Love Alex Cross!!!"

I love the Alex Cross series. I've been reading him for years but never read the first books in the series. I'm glad I did.

I love the movie. I know my beloved Morgan Freedman is to old to be Alex but he is who i see while listening to this book. Only this book was so much more then the movie. The villan had a whole other story line from the film; a court and a psychology science. I love friendly banter between the hero and Villian when one is behind bars. James Patterson writes the Hero/ Villian interaction and banter so we'll.

I love that Alex is a man's man in DC.

Along Came a Spider was great but it was no Roses Are Red with the Mastermind.

    "don't waste your time"

The plot has a somewhat interesting twist. However, characters are one dimensional, and the writing is terrible. Steven King is spot on about James Patterson
