Publisher's summary

After being nearly killed by both a hired hit man and her former secretary, Agatha Raisin could use some low-key cases. So when Robert Smedley walks through the door of her detective agency, determined to prove that his wife is cheating on him, Raisin Investigations immediately offers to help. Unfortunately for Agatha, Mabel Smedley appears to be the perfect wife: young, pretty, and a regular volunteer at church. But just as Agatha is ready to give up, Smedley is poisoned with weed killer, leaving Mabel, the prime suspect, poised to inherit a fortune. With no one left to pay her, Agatha has to drop the investigation - that is, until her old friend Sir Charles Fraith turns up again to rekindle her curiosity in the case.

Love these stories

These stories are easy listening and so funny. I love how the reverend hates Agatha, and her best friend is his wife.

Murder, Jealousy and Surprise!

Agatha Raisin has gone pro, opening up a detective agency and hiring a team of people to help her. A lot of her cases involved finding missing pets or errant children but when Agatha is involved murder is never far behind!

Friends Sir Charles Fraith, Mrs.Bloxby prove their value and add depth and charm. Lots of new characters are fun to get to know.

Agatha has another crazy romance and plots twist with regularity and there’s a surprise ending that will make Agatha fans excited!

Very good

The mystery is well done. It has multiple murders that begin to intersect. I love the ensemble cast of characters that make up Agatha's agency. They really enrich the story, and increased my enjoyment of the story. Part of me really hates Agatha's refusal to age gracefully and her preoccupation with men. Certainly seems that she has little self - respect and that is beginning to irritate me somewhat. But all in all I dis enjoy the story. The narrator is excellent.

Loved it!

Agatha Raisin is gaining some depth and maybe a tiny glimmer of humility. I love the biting dialogue delivered as only a Brit can. The end made me smile and giggle a little.

This book was completely plot

Too many detectives, and the book was entirely moved along by plot. There isn't much character development, and not much about Agatha's life like previous books. The case is interesting, but it's just a lot of this person does this, that person does that, and Agatha telling them all what to do.

Consistent Entertainment

People come and people go, but Agatha remains consistent and the stories have sufficient variation to hold your attention. Ms Bloxby has now on a couple occasions provided Agatha some inspiration based on the Vicar's wife's intuition about people. This was originally a bit bumbling and embarrassing, much like Agatha was. But in the past couple installments, this intuition had become more focused and more useful to Agatha. The male interests have changed again, but that is too be expected and helps to keep the story lines fresh. The performance is good.

Recommended.
