Publisher's summary

Kurdish terrorists have attacked a dam inside the borders of Turkey, threatening the water supply of their very homeland. It is not insanity, but the first step in a deceptively simple plan: force all-out war in the Middle East, drawing in the major players in the new world order.

What the terrorists don't know is that a new Regional Op-Center is now online in Turkey. A mobile version of the permanent crisis-management facility, the ROC is a cutting-edge surveillance and information mecca. And its team can see exactly what the Kurdish rebels are trying to do. But the terrorists are more resourceful than anyone thinks. They also have ways of obtaining classified information. And the Regional Op-Center is a prize not to be passed up.

Prolong the suspense: listen to more titles in Tom Clancy's Op-Center series.

Not written by Tom Clancy!

Too many characters. Too much jumping around in the story line. Poor story; I knew the ending after 10 minutes of listening. I think it is misleading to put Tom Clancy's name on the book when he didn't write it.

Op-center only gets better

Would you consider the audio edition of Acts of War to be better than the print version?

The audio book and the print version are both excellent and as usual complement each other.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Acts of War?

The Israli spies saving Paul Hood and the ambassadors when the Syrian President used them as bait to capture the terrorists.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Background is important!

This answers the question as to where the ops center came from, and how it fits into the jack Ryan Cherise.

Boring

I’m a Tom Clancy fan but this series is awful. The narrator is extremely boring.

Tired formula, but gripping in parts.

Really hoping subsequent books in the series revert to less far fetched ideas. Parts of this plot felt rushed an inconclusive

not possible

The writer needs to do more research. The way the vehicle was taken. Would not happen. Talk to a mechanic.

Not up to the Clancy standard

This story is not up to the usual Tom Clancy standard. Additionally, this book sounds more like it was read by a computer, not a person. I want my credit back, please!

Boring

Very one dimensional story. Certainly should not have Tom Clancy's name on it, as his books were never like that. Just one plot line, little intrigue, little in the way of technology etc.

The narrator was a little off. Can't quite put my finger on it, other than he read a little fast, and didn't pause in spots where he should have for effect. He was able to change voice for different characters a bit, but for some reason it was hard to tell which character was talking. I've heard worse.

I am listening to the end. But never would have fallen in love with this genre if they were all like this. NO MORE OP CENTER titles for me.

Prescient

Although the Kurds have proven to be solid allies in the regional conflict, this book is ultimately spot on about terrorism and risks posed to America.
