Good example of old-time radio.

There is a presenter, who discusses the history and conventions of the form, at the time, and also introduces the players and other key people in each production. It makes the whole presentation informative but distracting. Also the intros are lengthy in relation to the shows themselves.

Howard Duff is no Humphrey Bogart

It may have been popular at the time, but it doesn't age well.

The plot is confusing, Spade's logic escapes me and his relationship with Effie is atrocious. I really didn't like the character.
