Publisher's summary

This is a fun and funny mystery, narrated from a canine point of view, written for adults (PG-13) with a love of animals and their special quirks.

What if you only had days to solve a murder and catch the killer, or face a lifetime in prison? That's a tough enough task for any man, but even harder if you're a dog.

After a few tough years, Taser finally has a safe home and a loving master in an upscale Scottsdale, Arizona neighborhood. When a woman is murdered on his street, this Black Labrador suddenly faces the loss of everything he's struggled a lifetime to gain. Taser must find the killer or return to the harsh world of the county dog pound. He's aided by his buddy, Meatloaf, and a colorful pack of neighborhood dogs. They struggle with their limited human vocabulary and their fractured knowledge of the world. Other obstacles include new alpha dog rivals, old deadly enemies, and a menacing coyote population from the adjacent Arizona desert. In the end, Taser must decide how much he will risk to save his world.

Good Mystery

At first a murder mystery being solved by a pack of dogs was a really strange idea . The story began to really grow on the reader. The narrator added quite a bit of emotion and feeling to the story drawing even a tear . I am looking forward to reading more books by the author and listening to the narrator.

For Dog Lovers

If you could sum up A Howl in the Night in three words, what would they be?

For Dog Lovers

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

This book had so many fun ideas, the author really understands dogs. He does such a great job of anthropomorphizing the dogs in this book.

What does Anthony Reece bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Anthony Reece did an incredible job of giving each dog a voice of their own. He really captured 'dog'. I truly enjoyed his reading of this book. He made it so much more enjoyable.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

This book had so many 'tongue in cheek' doggy moments. Some were hilarious, some sad.

Any additional comments?

Oh how I wish that my dogs could talk like these and that I could understand.

If you just want a fun story

I have to say I really enjoyed this story, just easy fun, didn't have to do a lot of thinking. The author really caught the essence of the animals didn't try to make the human, It makes me wish I could know what my Aussie is thinking (I know, not very much) but fun to think about. The narrator did a fine job with the various voices of the animals, making it easy to pick out which one was talking. I can't wait for the other books in this series to come to Audible.
