Spoiler Alert

I've enjoyed all the books in this series so far. Unfortunately, I read "Chad's" review and one of the major plot twists is revealed. Skip that review, if having part of the ending revealed is not your cup of 'Tea' (pun intended)! Otherwise, I enjoyed this book as much as the others in the series.

Great Story Teller

What made the experience of listening to A Fool and His Honey the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the intricate plot and interesting characters. I had read the print edition some years ago, but I didn't realize that until I was three quarters through the audiobook.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aurora Teagarden. She matured and changed as her literary life progressed through each book.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene in which Aurora and her husband return home from a party to discover that shocking and puzzling events have occurred

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

I discovered Charlaine Harris' books in the late 1990's. Aurora Teagarden is my favorite character. I've always loved libraries. I was delighted to read mystery books that featured a librarian as the main character. I have read and enjoyed other series by Ms. Harris as well. I find her to be a great storyteller. I always enjoy a good story.

Oh!

I just couldn’t give as high a rating. I would have skipped if I’d known there was no HEA. Good story. Good narration. Too sad ending for me.

not a fan of this one

it was not believable, who would leave state with a stranger? it made the main character sound like a unfeeling, scatter brain.

Just mad about the ending

I like the Aurora Teagarden books. But there was no reason to write that ending.

great story

I really did not like the ending. I wish Aurora could be happy and I really felt that Martin made her happy.

Dead husband - Not fond of

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Very good story line. I would recommend this book as well as all the past Aurora Teagarden stories. She's a petite but strong-willed detective who is very charming but is always getting in trouble.

What other book might you compare A Fool and His Honey to and why?

I think Aurora reminds me of the heroin in the Janet Evonivich numbered books. They both are intelligent, but always gets into trouble.

What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does well with all the voices and gives personality to the characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I hated, just hated the death of her husband. I was very moved when he waited for his wife to show up at his bedside before he died. Their last words were beautiful.

Any additional comments?

Almost didn't want to read the next book because of the sadness of losing Martin.
