series that Im desperately trying to get through

I love a good murder mystery..This one kept me guessing, but the hardest part was listening to the reader.

Everyone should read like Jeremy Piven. He is fantastic!!! He had emotion, knew when to whisper and his phrasing had the perfect ebb and flow of reading. most excellent!!!!

I was sorely disappointed in Melissa Leo. She's a good actress, but shouldn't read. there was no emotion in her voice. her characters were dull, and lifeless and just inappropriate. I struggled to listen to her, and she unfortunately read most of the book. again, like the previous book, I kept going to make it through.

I also hated the music. it was awful!! I'm glad we are almost 20 years out and hopefully they don't do that anymore.

Aside from the female narrator, it’s great!

I loved the story and the background music. It was hard to get into the story because I didn’t enjoy the female narrator. Her reading style isn’t ideal and harsh to listen to at times. I only purchased it because I couldn’t find my hardcover copy of the book and want to re-read the series before reading the latest books. It’s worth it for the story overall. Jeremy Piven helped immensely to survive her voice.

Give it a chance, the narration gets better

I was skeptical after listening to the sample, but I loved the storyline of novel 1, that I took a chance and got novel 2, now finished, in the same day, I am on chapter 20 of novel 3. All in the matter of this trucker drive clock.
The storyline is captivating and keeps you immensely drawn in, the characters are well established and I love there is actually 2 narrators in 2nd chance.
Absolutely Remarkable and well written, the further you go in the novel, the better the narrators are at capturing and executing the dialog.
I am very happy I didn't let the sample sway me.
Hopefully this helps y'all.

Besides Narrator it’s great!!

Very different from first narrator she is a little harder to listen to from the 1st to Die Narrator, but if your a true reader and fan you can listen past the voice and hear the actual story. So good love this series!

Almost didn’t finish because of the music in the background

The female narrator starts out awful, but gets better as the story goes along. The male narrator was okay. The theatrical music in the background was so disturbing and distracting that I almost didn’t finish listening to the story. I recommend this for the story alone.

What a ride!

I've just recently finished 1st to die, and immediately, I wanted to read another of James Patterson's books. I did not regret getting this one. The story, the narration, the soundtrack, all of it together really brought me out of a boring day in the house and into the book. I want to follow Lindsey more and get on to the next book in the Women's Murder Club.

the story line has you on the edge of your seat, I love the WMC (women's murder club). the narrator's in this book are SO much better than in the 1st book.
