Publisher's Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of My World by Peter Sagan.

From 2015 to 2017, Peter Sagan achieved the seemingly impossible: he won three road race World Championships in a row, ensuring his entry into the history books as one of the greatest riders of all time.

But to look at Peter’s record in isolation is to tell only a fraction of his story, because Peter doesn’t just win: he entertains. Every moment in the saddle is an opportunity to express his personality, and nobody else has succeeded in making elite cycling look so much fun. From no-hands wheelies on the slopes of Mont Ventoux to press conference mischief with clamouring journalists, Peter exudes a passion for the sport and a lovable desire to bring smiles to the faces of his fans.

So, for the very first time, you will have the opportunity to glimpse behind the scenes of Peter’s world. You will discover the gruelling training programmes necessary for success and how Peter copes with the pressure of high expectation. You will feel that sense of elation when crossing the line ahead of the pack and moments of desperation, like in 2017 when Peter realised he wouldn’t be allowed to challenge for his sixth Tour de France green jersey. But what better tonic than to ensure a third year in rainbow - an achievement which may never be repeated again?

Insight into the mind of an elite cyclist

Great read. Interesting to learn what’s important and what isn’t in this guy’s world. Why so serious?

It is an interesting read and gives an insight

The book is mainly about the later years of his cycling as he discusses some of the races, he goes into detail about his Team Peter and some of his childhood, but not much, I found it lacking in any great detail, but I still enjoyed it, the narrator is always a personal choice, but I found Sy's voice too warm for this story.

fail

the book itself has been reviewed in other places (check inrng.com for example). you could have saved it's language by having it read by someone with less of an strong English accent... but no, you went and added another layer of Englishness to it therefore moving out even farther away from Peter Sagan...

A bit disappointing

I was really looking forward to this book, but feel disappointed by the end product.

PS comes across as the decent chap most think he is, and doesn't seem to be sour by some of his losses - the opposite, in fact.

However, there doesn't seem to be real dept in the story, it's all a bit superficial and repetitive. Hearing 100 riders, 100 stories and why so serious so many times became a little grating and felt quiet unnecessary. The coolness felt forced, to me at least.

There are some good bits, e.g. his crash with Cav in the TDF and 'that' amazing sprint (which he dealt with his loss in a very good natured and classy way) but overall this book feels a bit vacuous and is lacking bite.

I'd really hoped for better.

Simply Sagan.

Worth reading to get a good insight into cycling and what the cycling world is about also what it means to be a three time world champion

Entertaining

Sagan is clearly a fun, and funny guy, who is extremely honest.
His storytelling is entertaining, and never has negative words to say about his fellow cyclists. The narration makes it an easy and enjoyable listen. I would definitely recommend this book.

100 stories!

A very funny and informative ride with the legend Peter Sagan. Even if not a cycling fan you would enjoy this insight into the world of a pro cyclist.
Only reservation, although not badly read, I think it would of been perfect if Peter narrated it himself in his unique accent and wit.
Recommended, spend a credit!

A brilliant look into the world of a superstar.

Loved the book, only wish it was longer. Maybe a sequel is on store after his time at Quick Step.

Don’t bother or waste your time please

I love Peter Sagan but this starts off by saying it isn’t an autobiography and he is right it’s barely a book at all. He flip flops around a pretty boring story of racing and provides little to no insight into what makes him Peter. I’d argue he didn’t even wrote this but gave someone some basic information and they wrote a book.

It’s a real shame and I hope the next attempt after his career is done provides a little more insight.
