Dangerous, greedy enemies threaten her from all sides, and she's in dire need of his protection.

Sir Lachlan MacGrath, known as the Seducer of the Highlands, possesses a charming wickedness and canny wit that have earned him much popularity. Enjoyable and Exciting!

This second book in the Highland Adventures series was an enjoyable, exciting instalment. I loved Lachlan, he was such a rake in the previous book and ended up being a lovable, honourable, caring warrior in this one. I tried so hard to like Angelique but she just kept treating Lachlan so poorly and with so much mistrust that I just couldn’t warm up to her. My heart went out to Lachlan as no matter what he did or how hard he tried, Angelique was too stubborn to trust him. Regardless, the story was exciting, with not only plenty of action but some fun scenes as well. (Especially when Lachlan played the Hazard dice game with Angelique, that was hilarious. You’ll just have to get the book and see for yourself.) I enjoyed listening to Andrew Bryan narrate this second book in the series much more than the first. His voice for Lachlan was spot on. I am really enjoying Vonda Sinclair’s writing style and looking forward to the next book in the series.

Voice is annoying and story is weak.

I was terribly disappointed in this purchase. The voices are not great to downright bad. The progress is lame, and repetitive. I love this genre, so it has to be bad to turn me off. Thank goodness I can return it.

I'm hoping it is just this one book combined with the voices used. I checked out the other books narrated by this man, they were fine. This author has other books, and is well liked. Won't stop me from buying other books by either of them. Just not this one. If you're uncertain, the five minutes is exactly what you get, it doesn't get better.

Past Experiences Leave Deep Wounds Healed by Love

What did you like best about this story?

I loved that Angelique struggled so desparately within herself -- her innate passionate nature versus her past experience with uncaring men.

What does Andrew Bryan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He does great work in dialog and accented languages.

Any additional comments?

I absolutely adored Lady Angelique with her reactions about events around her, her fighting spirit to stand up to what she believes, and her absolute belief her husband-to-be was nothing more than a skirt lifter, lecher and debaucher, dallying with women at court. She could not abide sharing a bed with him, a barbaric Scot of the Highlands.Narrator Andrew Bryan's excels in dialog. I love the smooth baritone voice of Lachlan. He did a superb job with Angelique's voice, depicting her very French side. Her English had a strong French accent, in addition to speaking French in dialog.Angelique insulted her husband at every turn, in French, not knowing he spoke French and several other languages. She embarrassed herself many times with her rash and quick temper. (she endears herself) Nevertheless she was a very likeable character. I could understand why she reacted the way she did, however Lachlan didn't know her backstory, which created even more tension between the two.She lived in a world where women were used by men; whether to obtain their property or bodies and ultimately their heirs. Lady Angelique detested Highlanders. All men were faithless pigs. After a very funny scene, where Lady Angelique escapes from a drooling fool (her words), by entering a darkened room only to find she happened upon two people pleasuring themselves, and then being found by the king’s guards in the same room as Lachlan and his paramour, however, Lady Eleanor had sneaked away, not being caught. From one shock to another she finds Lachan is to be her husband, take her father’s title of Earl of Draughon and claim the chief of clan Drummagan. And with shock she leaves the King’s chamber. How can she escape this fate?Highlander Lachlan is no less shocked. Frankly, he likes women and beds many. He never expected to rise to this level. His older brother was an Earl, but never him. Angelique was one prickly lass as far as he was concerned. But he couldn’t say nay to the king. He would have to make this work. Could he lead a clan, could he be faithful to his wife? Did he even want to be faithful to that hellion cat?Conflicts abound between these two in this well-written suspenseful story. Lachlan really tries to be her protector, his job as a husband. He felt he failed over and over. Plenty of danger awaits this passionate and volatile couple as they struggle to understand and trust each other. Will they be too late?

Wonderful Fun Read

Any additional comments?

I read this book quite some time ago so was ready to listen to the audio version...wow! The story really sizzles when someone else is reading it to you! The narrator was excellent & made you feel like you were in the Highlands. The story is full of adventure, betrayal, family, fun & of course, lots of seduction. A must read...this author is one of my favorites & I have read all of her books...I look forward to having more of them on audio!

Adventure and Romance

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. I loved the character of Lachlan, he tried so hard to prove himself to Angelique and to put his reputation in his past. There were many events working against him. There were many dangerous situations confronting them both. Lachlan’s friend, Rebbie, was a loyal friend but quite a tease! The narrator used a variety of different voices and accents. I loved his voice for Lachlan, in particular.

Okay

Any additional comments?

Okay but not outstanding. I like the H/H. They were both very good characters - especially Lachlan. The rest of the story is rather contrived and pieces left hanging. The reader is pleasant, but he mispronounces words (such as "livery" and many others) and I don't know what is going on with this echo thing throughout. It is supposed to be the characters thoughts, but for me it is aggravating and distracting.

A great story, well read!

Would you listen to My Wild Highlander again? Why?

Yes I would listen to My Wild Highlander again. The overal performance was very well done, and the story is very entertaining.

What was one of the most memorable moments of My Wild Highlander?

The most memorable for me had to be when Lachlan had to go to the Dr. to check his health but was caught outside by his two friends and had to explain why he was seeing him. That was a classic.

Have you listened to any of Andrew Bryan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listen' to any of Andrew Bryan's performances before, but I certainly will remember his name and I hope to hear him again, he was really good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The story made me laugh and smile, the hero was such a rogue and the heroine just didn't stand a chance.

Any additional comments?

I also liked how thoughts were made known, that was very different.

*Great Audio Book*

If you could sum up My Wild Highlander in three words, what would they be?

Interesting, passionate and Dangerous.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lady Angelique because she has a fighting spirit and stands up for whats right.

Which scene was your favorite?

I have a few Favorite's but The dark drawling room where she was hiding from Lord Chants-worth was funny. The Audio Narrator makes it like we are apart of the story as a side character that no one can see but we are there watching the story take place.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Adventure, Betrayal, Lust!

Any additional comments?

I wish they had a female to read the female parts. I think it would have run smoother for me. But I still enjoyed it!!!!! I would tell everyone its a must add to your Audio list.

highland adventures

If you could sum up My Wild Highlander in three words, what would they be?

Exiting, exasperating, excellent

Which character – as performed by Andrew Bryan – was your favourite?

Lachlan of course, I fell in love with him from the very start, and I mean in My Fierce Highlander

Any additional comments?

I absolutely love the highland accents and thought Andrew did this quite well, of course it helps having a brilliant storyline, which Vonda has done with all her highlander books, I can't wait until more of the series hits audible and by that I mean 4,5 &6 as I have the other three

Characters.

I am sorry that l purchased this book. The character of the female first character palled after the third chapter, a negative self centred personality. I pitied the narrated having to repeat the same phrases of doubt on the male lead was still being reacted up to chapter thirteen. Most irritating. Very reluctant to purchase another story by this author.

Not one of her best

I have loved Vonda’s previous books but this one was not one of her best. The narrator was poor. Story line was weak in places and characters weak. Glad I read her other books first. Otherwise I would not have purchased her other books
