Everyone has secrets. When my wife went to prison for the murder of my mistress, I realized just how dangerous some secrets could be.
She’s now my ex-wife and is getting released based on new evidence. I don’t want to worry, but even if she didn’t kill my mistress, which I’m not convinced of, there’s no doubt she’s unstable.
I have a family to protect now. My new wife, Evelyn, is terrified, and I am determined not to let anything happen to her or our newborn daughter.

stick with the first

I really enjoyed the first book but this was disappointing.
I found the first book to be a taut thriller with a few flaws that could be overlooked. This next book just had entirely to much internal monologue and implausible plot threads. With more devious machinations and more complex characters and world building this could have really worked as a next level mind blowing phycological puzzle. But sadly it had to many secrets but not enough foundation to hold it up. I wanted to love it and I wish I had. It wasn’t terrible but it just wasn’t believable enough to really grab me.
