Publisher's Summary

Nancy Friday's taboo-shattering best seller My Secret Garden is the most popular and controversial book of women's sexual fantasies ever published. Women who feared their erotic fantasies called it scandalous. Women who recognized their own fantasies in its pages, rejoiced. Outspoken, graphic, vulnerable and shameless, My Secret Garden is a classic study of female sexuality.

Friday interviewed hundreds of women from every part of the country to learn their sexual private thoughts, and she listened like no one else. Now in audio for the first time, a multi-cast group of top actors dramatize the real voices of women speaking freely like they never had before.

Great read! Even for men!

Mutually beneficial and exciting! Like many men, I have always been curious of what women fantasize about. Truly this book is a "tell all"! After reading it I think it's beneficial for men as well; though, I think it was more directed towards women. This book allowed me to be more open and accepting of my partner and her fantasies. And what's better than being able to fantasize together, me and her? If doors are closed, this book is the key!

Absolutely exquisite

This book is an excellent window to women sexual fantasies. It place women’s desires into perspective towards us, men, who are oblivious of what women want. Thank you Nancy Friday.

Having open communication

Right on point with open communication, only if everyone could be this honest. The world would change to positive

I love that they had multiple voices narrating the different stories

This is a classic text that celebrates Women’s erotic fantasies and can help every woman understand that she is not unusual in having fantasies, in fact they come in so many different flavors and can contribute greatly to the experience of sexual pleasure and arousal.

Unbearable narration.

The first 2 chapters sound like the author is fantasizing about herself and her revolutionary contribution to humankind. Maybe its the narrator. But I think my ears were bleeding. Agreed it was brave and awesome to approach this subject, how about just a little tiny bit more humility in the presentation.

Overall, I do appreciate the concept of recognizing that (IMHO) actually women and men pretty much have the same range of fantasy for the same range of reasons. Something I was fairly aware of but can always use a good reminder. There are some cultural precepts that are healthy to let go of. But at least the way its narrated, it sounds so utterly exploding out of dire repression and presumptuous that men can't possibly understand the female perspective that I could not bare to listen beyond 4 chapters. However this is just my perspective, I do appreciate that this book seems to have helped many people feel understood.

absolutely 💯 % insightful

As a male in my early 30's I found this book to be illuminating. I discovered this book by way of the topic, getting into a Woman head, upond reading I found it to be far more insightful then I had even imagined. Some of the fantasies however I did found to be totally disgraceful, (Beastiality/ Encest) but that's just my personal Opinion. Otherwise the book served its purpose of giving me a better understanding of the fact that Women do have strong sexual desires, and why it's not exactly something they're hardwired to talk about. upon the reading of this book, I have a better appreciation for my own sexual desires and also had a sexual fantasy realized 😅
P.S
Loved reading/ listing to this book and especially thought the defensive of it at the end was a profoundly superior argument to detractors!

A book worth listening .. Eye opener

Amazing stories, fantastic settings, and mind-boggling fantasies,
I can say for sure that most men, don't ever listen to this kind of book. And you'll be a great advantage if you do.

What Doe's security seeking creatures want from their Sex life???

Adventure .. Intimacy. Secrecy, New and fresh romance. Mindful sex, and sharing a passion for each other.

Thanks Nancy..

Fascinating but appallingly read

Fascinating and important work, if rather outdated, but the various performers are interminably awful. Would still recommend but go in warned!

Someone please think of those poor dogs.

Very interesting read, after finishing the book "sex at dawn"

As a straight male reading this book definitely gave me a better understanding of female fantasies.

Some parts were hard to get through.

Annoying narrator

The book can be good, but the narration is so weird, with a very annoying intonation.. my mind couldnt help but wander away. I just couldnt concentrate on what she was saying since it was just to annoying to listen to. Dissapointed!
