Publisher's summary

Her entire life Claire Brown has lived by the plan - the plan that will help pull her siblings and her family into bigger and better things. She follows a straight and narrow path with her future ever in mind. But she doesn't account for the heart wanting what the heart wants. She can't afford the inconvenience of falling for a guy she's admired since second grade. That sort of thing is for someone else who lives a life that isn't hers. Right?

At the height of his high school football career, already accepted on a full ride scholarship into the local U, Evan Carmichael is the epitome of QB golden boy - until everything comes tumbling down. Now he has to re-arrange his entire future and it seems like the only one who even remotely cares, besides his mom, is a girl who can't find the time for a relationship. And how does he know he's actually interested in her and this isn't desperation because his friends kicked him to the curb?

In this tale of insecurity and love, Meg Danale explores how people can surprise us in all the best ways and how faith in our fellow humans can sometimes lead to something more.

So fun

What a fun book to read. A romance with humor and wonderful characters! This one took me back to my High School days; memories returning; and gave me some good laughs about it all. It is well-written and I'm looking forward to reading/listening to more books by Ms. Danale.

The narration was fantastic! Sarah Kisko put so much feeling and expression into her performance making the characters come alive. She made the characters come alive!

Great reading

This is a story of someone who has a great plan for her goals. But as we know, life doesn’t always work out the way we planned. Thank God for unanswered prayers.

A roller-coaster romance journey

This is my first read of one of Meg Danale's books and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I almost stopped reading in the first 30 minutes as there was very little action, a lot of 'verbiage' and terminology that I personally find a little cringe-worthy and seemed more suitable for a 14-year-old than a mature adult like me but I turned the narration speed down a little and settled in and I was taken on a very relatable and engaging journey suitable for all ages of two young people as they struggle to discover separately and together how to recover and be flexible when life does not pan out as you hope as sometimes it is only then that we find some of life's hidden gems.

I have to mention that at times, I did not think Audrey deserved Evan and wondered if perhaps he should turn tail and hop quickly away on his crutches but they both showed satisfying character development over the course of the story. The beginning is no fairy tale and that adds a special touch of realism.

I highly recommend this book: The narration by Sarah Kisko is superior to any I have heard recently with the female and male voices equally good and fitting so well into the character's nuances. I will seek out this author in the future with pleasure.

cute cheesy teen romance

Do you know what's going to happen from the title and the first introduction of the characters? of course! Just makes it that .uch more fun to listen to the process! Love the reader's voice inflections and accents.
