Publisher's summary

Brad spends his days swinging a hammer and his weekend nights pouring drinks just to keep his nose clean. At only 21, he's already had enough trouble to last him a lifetime. Loved it

Where does My Name is Luka rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Higher end of the middle

What about Tim Todd’s performance did you like?

I loved that his voices for each character was different enough that I never had a problem discerning who was talking.

If you could take any character from My Name is Luka out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Sweet Luka of course.

Any additional comments?

not quite what I was looking for but still good

I'm not gonna lie I just wanted to hear a book with a little story and lots of hot guy action, but this book was the other way around, and I enjoyed it very interesting. the main antagonist is resolved too quickly and cleanly. the sex happens in like the last five minutes I was disappointed by how short it was and how the book just ends right after that. I'm hoping the other books have just a tad bit more that being said the story was intriguing and the narrator did an awesome job, he had a "bedroom voice" the whole time and I liked it.

An Unexpected Saviour and the Man He Saves

My Name is Luka is a touching book about a young man who is weeks away from his 18th birthday who can hardly wait to escape his physically abusive father.

After one beating that caused a mild concussion his downstairs neighbor who is 21 takes him in and helps him recover from the concussion. After a second literal whipping almost to the point of death Luka, the near-18 y/o, is taken my Brad, his friend and neighbor, to a couple who volunteer at an LGBTQIA homeless youth shelter.

I must congratulate Brad on his self control because he refuses to do anything untoward until Luka turns 18. Luka gets the best birthday present ever. Not just great sex but a life-partner.

I recommend this book. Aria Grace is never shy on taking on the tough topics that face the LGBTQIA community and the greater community at-large.

5 Star Everything

Any additional comments?

I am so in love with this short story. I would think that it would have stayed on the surface without enough time to dive into the deeper emotions but I couldn't be more incorrect. Luka was full of intense emotional drama and a sexy romance for the ages.

I was so heart broken by Luka's struggles that his sexuality had brought him. Being judged for your sexuality is one of the issues that just really breaks my heart and I thought this book was told in such a respectful way.

I am excited to move onto the rest of this series and and meet the other characters.

Tim Todd is a new narrator to me and he was fantastic. He told the story in a way that the characters were each represented with different tones, which made it remarkably easy to follow and I was never thrown out of the story due to narration, he kept me deep in it the entire book. Excellent job.

I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review by audiobook boom.

This series as amazing

Aria is one of my favourite M /M authors. This book is contemporary m/m. My heart breaks for all Luka had to endure. Brad is an unassuming hero. I listened to this as an audio book. I'll be reading more from this series and author.

Hot and Touching M/M Romance

Luka's story was truly touching having read and experience his hurt from his loss and harsh life. I enjoyed how his and Brad's relationship progressed and how Brad was careful with him and took such good care of him. The love that grew between them was undeniable and felt natural. The overall performance of this audio was very good and a pleasure to listen to. I am reviewing this audiobook honestly in exchange for a free copy.

My Name is Luka

Luka! Poor sweet and innocent Luka, he's so close to finishing high school and turning 18 when he meets Brad. Lukas dad is a horrible abusive Jerk, and Brad does what he can to protect Luka from him. With help from a few friends (from previous books in this series) they are able to keep Luka away from his dad until Luka turns 18. I was glad to see that Brad held his morals and waited till Luka was 18 until anything happened between them, knowing that Luka really needed help and friends before even thinking about starting a relationship. good book.
Audio - I think this was my first time listening to a book narrated by Tim Todd. He did ok. I wanted to laugh every time he did the voice for Luka's dad it just sounded over the top funny. lol. But other than that he did good overall with everyone and I enjoyed listening to this book.

Sweet m/m romance overcomes eye-rolling plotline.

I had a hard time rating this one, because I did ultimately like and enjoy the story, despite some outlandish plot twists worthy of a soap opera.

At first listen, the narration seemed a bit flat and character voices indistinguishable ... but after a few minutes, I was able to follow along with no problem and the narration did make the story more enjoyable for me (than just reading it myself).

In the end, despite the eye-rolling plot points, the sweet m/m romance proved to be memorable and worth the listen. This was my first Aria Grace book and first I read in the series. I was able to follow along with no problem and went on to listen to other books in this series (since they are included in the Romance Package).

Sweet

*I received this audiobook from the author through the DBML Program in exchange for an honest review.*

This was a sweet story. It’s the story of Brad who breaks his wrist on the job, and is forced to spend a few weeks in his apartment. Home, for Brad, was never anywhere but a place to sleep; it certainly wasn’t a place to be immobile for weeks. But fate had other plans. This unplanned stay led him to discover Luka, who had been enduring a violent relationship with his father. A very sad occurrence.

Brad intervenes and takes Luka to his own apartment where Brad watches Luka as he sleeps and so the romance begins; and a sweet love story ensues between Luka and Brad.

Great story. If you want a sweet, short love story -- look no further. Highly recommended. 4/5
