Disappointing!

I think this is Faith Hogan’s first novel. I am disappointed in it. Having read her others (all 4/5* reads), I was expecting great things. The first half or so if this book is good. Sadly, the second half doesn’t live up to that. The women’s responses to Paul’s death and their associated discoveries are just too bland. The characters move from being strong, independent minded women to being weak, flat shadows of their former selves. Don’t let this put you off Faith’s books. The others are excellent.

Terrible, woman hating and appalling

Normalizing domestic psychological abuse, glorifying chauvinism and promoting charem syndrome. Teaching women to be happy in destructive relationships, promoting male supremacy mentality that families are made of a single male with the numerous females he has collected and their offspring. Horrific justifications of adultery, making it a woman's duty to accept manipulation and narcissism in the name of motherhood and family values. A very damaging book to anyone trying to find her identity as a woman in a man's world. Morale of this truly evil story is women must cult- worship the man who lies to them and destroyed their lives, their children's lives and their chance of happiness.

Kept coming up on Amazon Recommends

This book kept coming up on my Amazon Recommends list. It didn't impresire me to read it.

Turns out I was wrong, lots of twists and turns I got sucked in pretty quickly. This story is about family, not your regular Mum, Dad and the kids variety. A love story of a different kind. Loved it.
